Did the TWU trade Mech 1.5% wage cut to pay for UB?

I heard that the TWU traded the difference between the 16% wage cut for Fleet Service and the 17.5% for Mechanics in exchange for the Union Business clause?

And why the difference between Fleet Service and Mechanics?

Shift Differentials and wage percentages?

It is obviuos that is what happened, I dont have to hear the obvious.

The Paid Union Business left the table on the first discussion of the TWU Local 514 Officers. Most of them only ran for office for one of two reasons, either for the money or to keep from having to appear at the toolbox for work.
