Any idea on how many are part time and how many are full time? Also everyone, ramp and agents, has been recalled in MIA.

It's my understanding that the 120 hired off the street are only 90 day temps and will be let go in september. All DFW layoffs have been recalled, but heard that DFW is closed to any x-fers comming in. Not sure if they will let the PDX guys in or not.

Simple, no relocation allowance. Make the jobs 90 day temps and TDYs and off you go. Furloughees in the FSC class, just like mechanics, get no relocation expenses. They may have been offered the slot but couldn't afford to move on their own.

Most likely because they will be temps for 90 days only. If they let folks transfer into DFW, then have a big layoff in sept, AA may end up having to pay 12.5 and moving,etc..With temps they eliminate all that. I know it doesn't seem fair, but the TWU said 'they can do that'.

AA/TWU have some strange rules with regard to furlough and recall. Again, the TWU bubbas allowed language that was company friendly in the extreme. When you are furloughed, you are "supposed" to bump the least senior person in the system.

Your recall, however, is limited to the station from which you were bumped; not the system. Yes, you can have an experienced, vetted, Union Member on the street from one station and be hiring green, unknown newbies into the same classification at another station; and, No, the TWU has not attempted to change the system for twenty years.

The only way to get from the street back onto the property at a station other than your furlough station is to submit a transfer request from furlough status, OBTW-you cannot submit a request for transfer from furlough status until after you have officially been furloughed.

Agents in SJU told me they are hiring a bunch off the street there.

I can verify that the transfer list isn't exhausted. The last time I checked, I was about 200 away from getting a transfer to DFW

You're right. I did get a chance check it out further at the union mtg. It was all the recalls are back. Next is the Xfer list. I was told there is alist of 368 waiting to xfer to DFW ramp.
