Delta Pilots get 20% pay raise will this affect the APA in bankruptcy?

Am sorry to be a little cynical but why should it?
AA is bankrupt!!!! Delta is currently one of the
most profitable airlines in the industry. So the
answer should be a fairly simple one.

I agree.....Also, people need to keep in mind Delta's bankruptcy is far behind them.

It was brought up in court yesterday. Of course its relevant because it speaks to what the market rate is for Pilots. remember that BK was to abrogate contracts with onerous terms, not to simply allow companies to lock in low pay rates for long terms. If AA gets what they want Deltas second BK wont be far ahead of them.

Exactly...But my point was AA pilots cannot now tell the judge...."OOOOH, YOUR HONOR...LOOK AT THE DELTA PILOTS...THEY JUST GOT A 29% RAISE......"

But one thing is for sure, the six year deal locks everyone in while profits will be flowing!

That was the twu's intent with the vote recently - just trying to help out their masters.

I don't care what's offered (as if it would be earth-shattering anyway) - 3 years max with financial penalties to the company for dragging their feet in negotiations.

Does everyone remember the last SIX YEAR DEAL? 6% over 6 years.....................

Doesn't the Term sheet between APA and US say pilots will be paid at Delta pay rates + 3 % ? If so, then I don't think Parker thought DL would come out witha TA so quickly . Those Delta rates are kinda high in my opinion .

The DL rates are a bit high. They also drew a new line on scope -- ALPA is calling it a victory that the company is reducing 50 seaters, yet the agreement gives DL up to ~325 70/76 seaters (vs ~250 today).

give & take.......20% pay raise to increase the flexibility of the company. Why doesn't AA take the same approach?? They want their cake, your cake, and your new born's cake.

E:

This would make perfect sense. IF there is a wedding of AA and US, I predict a bankruptcy filing by the new entity within 2 years of the ceremony, necessitating "me too" filings (leapfrog filings, ala AA) by all players (except LUV) to rid themselves of more costs not associated with corporate management salaries and perks and a final push to eliminate the union presence at any airline.

You don't have to believe me - just watch.

DL also is picking up 88 717s - courtesy of WN's desire to be a one model airline.

DL is giving its pilots 12% to play nice and let them restructure the domestic RJ operation, the first US network airline to have a significant plan to reduce 50 seater flying - in return DL gets 88 new mainline aircraft.

ALPA also won agreements on domestic regional carrier vs mainline flying.

This makes AA's sales job to the BK court regarding the pilot contract more complicated.

From a Delta Pilot, doesn't seem he's to impressed: "Of course you forgot to mention that Delta wants to reduce profit sharing by 33 %. Delta is predicting record profits in the next year. Pay rates still well below, Southwest, FedEX and UPS. A First officer at Delta flying a 767-300er on international routs would still make less than a Southwest First officer flying a 737 domestic. Just the facts man! But the sound of a 20% pay raise serves to bolster the image of those greedy pilots. Did I mention that I lost my pension at age 48 and took a 42% pay cut in bankruptcy and had my career stagnated by the age 65 rule?"
