Delle's Jeopardy

Maybe it's Cause' we've seen this and answer it before!

A year ago in december united was trying to secure a loan from the goverment to keep a float, in order for the loan to go through United had to come up with a business plan on how they would return to profitablity! At the same time Mechanics were voting on the restructuring/new agreement, they turned it down! The business plan already had the mechanics concessions- that they had except the new agreement in the plan! As the IAM was planning a re-vote on the mechanics agreement the goverment came out and said that United business plan is unsound and pull the plug on any goverment loan to United. This forced United to file BK almost immediatly!! I blame who ever came up with the Sorry A** Business Plan that made the U.S. Goverment reject the loan! Not AMFA!

If the Company Needs Help, Convince The Membership!

But, Don't forget what a union is for!

"Even though ideology cannot strictly be regarded as a structrual characteristic of unions, Fiorito and Hendricks (1987a) suggest that it is inextricably enmeshed with union structure. They attribute the lack of attention devoted to union ideology in the United States to American unions' nonideological charater, or alternatively to the monolisthic adoption of "business unionism" as the dominate form of U.S. unionism."

What is union Ideology- you say?
ideal: Unions and companies have an adverse relationship!

The same things that they did here last April and what they are currently doing is the same thing they did at UAL.

So, yes, I stand by my statement that amfa is to blame for the bankruptcy at UAL.

<span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>I work with several AMFA supporters and most of them voted for the contract. I don't recall anybody pushing anybody one way or another. Unless you want to count the twu and company scare tactics.

I would like to see proof of your acusations, I believe now that you don't know what your talking about.

Well, I don't have the computer skills as some of the guys on these boards so I can't put up quotes or graphs or memos. But why don't you ask Bob Owens what happened with the lawsuit that the local in NYC had.

They lost by the way.

Come on Thrustful, I know that you think we get on here to make up stuff but what I post is credible information. Just because I can't copy and post with the best of them doesn't make my statements less true.

Amfa took the stance that bankrptcy would be a better situation. . .period.
And what is troubling is that some still think that way!!

I am thankful that amfa didn't have the hold on our guys at AA the way they had hold of them at UAL at the tme of our vote in April. They tried, Lord knows they tried. But the card count has increased some and I hate to think what will happen if they get in at AA.

I have been at this for a while so I like to think that I do know what I'm talking about. I have seen enough to know that amfa is not the right bargaining agent for the mechanics and related at AA.

I guess you don't miss the $20,000 a year salary cut, one week vacation loss, sick day loss, holiday pay loss, double time loss, IOD.....

So as long as you have a job, I suppose you would be willing to work for minumum wage!

You're at minimum wage? Is that after or before your medical quits...on the street you have nothing, ask your buddies at NW that voted your phony wannabe assoc. in. BTW...good job on FM1...must have been presented by Dave..HAHAHAHA

You don't read very well, do you.

I said " So as long as you have a job,I suppose you would be willling to work for minimum wage."

But you answered my question. You would be willing to have the TWU and Company open the already inserted umbrella that has been shoved in your rectum!
Thanks for your honesty!

BTW, I understand your difficulty in reading what people write here. That's why many of us want off the BUS!

HAHAHAHA...you gave up one concession package, voted in by you and your amfa card signers, and ya think there lies your future. You poor sole, how did ya ever go home and face the babies?

Hey wait a minute...that you been looking at my rectum? You on the gleam team bruddah? I do understand your logic....not, you have inner tendencies that need to be dealt with, try starting with peanut butter.

And it's not that I do not comprehend what ya recommend, it's just that you post a lot here that contains no knowledge, otherwise known as stupid, mah bruddahman. You suggest someone in our field work for minimum wage...why not quit here, go to NWA where amfa is already repping...I think ya know why...gotta wait for the 5200 to return..HAHAHA...OK then...how about UAL...ooopsy...6,000 waiting line there...you a bright boy, but love yo logic.

Get off the bus...man, you never made the trip to the street to get on the bus, you've evidently been leading a sheltered life.

Well there you go again. The fact is that we did no go forward with the case. We sought and were denied an injunction. An injunction is not an easy thing to get especially when the company and the union are the opposition.

So much for your credibility.

"and I hate to think what will happen if they get in at AA."

Yea, you will have to go back to the floor and work under the conditions you put in place.

" have seen enough to know that amfa is not the right bargaining agent for the mechanics and related at AA."

And who is? The TWU? Please see the graph of AA mechanics pay vs CPI! The fact is that the TWU has been doing a lousy job at representing A&P mechanics for at least 20 years. They may have been doing a good job at getting more dues payers but not a good job at giving those dues payers what they were paying for.

To the twuer and the mci afl ci dont no

When will you realize the only thing that changes is the paint on the tail. This is my 3rd stop and I will gladly move on to the next airline if I have to. Unfortunately the constant concessionary give backs of the worthless twu keep sending the standards of this profession lower and lower. You will never understand that there will all ways be air planes to fix and keeping the standard of fixing them is something the twu can not do. It is a ramp union and a company union. You can not see the big picture and you probably never will. keep smoking that pipe may be some day you will under stand. Keep paying your twu dues and you will all ways have a job but just not one you can be proud of. You have to take a stand at some point or remain a coward the choice is yours but the twu is full of cowards just look around.
