CWA Update

Favorable??? To who??

2 years to bring one work group up to the pay of the other???? Holy cow!! Money savings for the company....big time.

Since we’re going with the existing US contract, does that mean we get pay increases?
AWA employees will move up to the current US Airways pay rates in the following series of steps:
· First pay period after April 1, 2006 (or first pay period following resolution of all transition issues, if earlier): Increase $.40/hour or transition to US Airways pay rate, whichever is less;
· Four months later: Increase by 25% of the difference between their current pay rate and the US Airways pay rate;
· Six months later: Increase to 50% of the difference between their current pay rate and the US Airways pay rate;
· Five months later: Increase to 75% of the difference between their current pay rate and the US Airways pay rate; and
· Five months later: Increase to the US Airways pay rate.

Where these groups covered before?

Who will not be represented by the Association?
The following AWA employee groups will not be part of the customer service group represented by the Association:
· Customer Relations
· Central Baggage Resolution Office
· The cargo office at PHX
· Passenger coordinated tower positions in PHX and LAS

Can anyone tell me if specialty desks (frequent flyer, QM/RA (or CSD at US), web support, etc) get any kind of premium on this payscale? If so, how much is it? I can't find any info on that. Also, what are the "dues" and will we have to start paying that now or after our first "raise" in April?

Also, no changes to vacations or sick days. That still has to be dealt with and I believe they are hoping to have it done by 1jun06. Hp has better sick day and vacation policy but what we will have to deal with is yet to come.
anyone know what the mainline pay rate is without having to search for it in the contract? Also, we need to fight to get rid of the 2012 deal...there are so many little items that may or may not effect the hub but do affect field stations that HAVE to be negotiated-otherwise I am voting no should it come down to a new vote...it sure sounds like we won't be voting on "re -negotiations" though...anyone have a spin on this? We are trying to figure out what the pay "raises" actually will be...thanks...

I agree...they sure are taking their time with the increases---dont say I am ungrateful-I am grateful we are getting somewhere...but...I will stand by that I will not work a US flight until I make the equivalent...maybe since it will be 2 years til we have one operating cert this is the reason for the length for increase??? I feel for US employee's as the grievance that was filed seemed to be tossed to the wayside with this new one...

I am on a conference call on Friday and I will relay all info I get!

There is a link to their payscale at www.cwa.net on left side of page. This bypasses having to look thru the contract.

At this time we Need all IAM members who were Expressed and Outsourced to speak up. We all lost our jobs due to their incompetence, and now is our chance to see what justice can be done. Let's bombard them with calls,Letters, and E-mails to wake them up!! Had any of us known how this would turn out, we would have attempted to transfer to a CSA position long ago...Let's get together on this and make our voices heard. They talk about solidarity, well let's show them a good example of their own talk!!! :up:

You know you have no idea, the IAM could not bring an agreement back that lost all the jobs, it was a final offer that your own brothers and sisters ratified.

Guess you forgot Judge Mitchell abrogated your CBA on 1/6/05?

FSA brothers and sisters in the large hubs with the additional stations of BDL and PVD being brought up to CLASS 1 CITY is what did in the 30 cities that in which 600 plus IAM MEMBERS lost their jobs.

I'm with you Rob, I really am. You guys got the shaft, but almost every one of you could probably have tranfered to PHL.

Regards and Best Wishes,

I know that my 10 years in US East terms isn't that long but at HP, it's fairly senior. So keeping that perspective, in 10 years at HP, I've received an increase of $3.75...total.

Over the next 2 years, I'll go up $8.00.

While I remain skeptical of losing other benefits (holiday pay? vacation time? i don't get the whole contract thing yet) and I'm not all that excited about paying dues (anyone know how much they are?)...I'm still pretty excited about this news!

Gee Cal,

Since you were not there you have no idea of what transpired.

I was there and witnessed it all.
Thats nothing to be proud of, although you were rewarded with a paying union position with 142M. :down:
