Cwa Reverses Position

YA HEAR THAT CCY?
The real question is, what exactly does the "buyout" entail? I understand it's flight benefits and medical. BUT, what exactly is the dollar figure they are receiving, and how is it calculated? Is it based on a %, or years of service? Certainly they must have much lower agents seniority wise than U. Does anyone know exactly how much they get, because it might be minimal. If it is then I doubt many U employees would accept it. Especially if they might cut medical benefits for retirees down the line-or go bankrupt. Does anyone have any input on these figures?

The only way we will get a buyout package is if we give up all recall rights for those on furlough so that replacements come from the street. And yes the company could use BK to take your med. away after you're out.

The only way a buyout works is that if the company has the upfront capital required for the additional expense and over time the cost of the replacement workers is less. Everybody would like a meaningful buyout, but in US Airways' case it likely does not have the resources to fund such a program.

It's sure funny how plenty of resources can be found for executives and the golden chutes.

Give me my severance and early retirement, which I am old enough for, and I will go never to post here again, that is a promise. That is what I want for a buy out.

Ok, so you are saying severence and medical. Severence for Topped out CWA'ers is appx 12,000 for full time. So you are saying you think the majority of agents who qualify would accept this? That does not seem to be asking too much EXCEPT
if Usairways is going under anyways. Why would they offer a package if they are going to dissolve, or if they are going back into bankruptsy protection?

That's possible but you nor I nor anyone knows this for sure, except maybe the sorcerer who posts the future on here daily. By the way…they can even keep their pathetic medical, I will provide my own.

Watch the creative editing.

Again, if CCY wants a junior labor force, either offer early outs or find a better strategy. Why should someone who has been at US work for less (on a per-step basis) than the LCCs simply because they have been there longer?

I don't really expect anyone to address that, because (as I wrote and was clipped from the reply) it amounts to age discrimination (or points to incompetent management, more likely).

If anyone wants the WN offer emailed to them send me a PM with your email address and title "WN contract info" or similar. Its too long to post here.

How long before one evaluates their options?
By your track record no matter what this management does or how adversely this personally affects you, they know they have you and couldn't care less what you think. So now Bob, you have a glimpse into what being an employee here means, just a glimpse.

"So how long does one remain loyal? How long before one evaluates their options?"

You have a choice, by giving U your money, you are not sending a message. Sure, you can send all the emails you want and you migt get a response, but the bottom line is, you are still giving U your money.

Just like the employees are trying to create a better airline, you can do so, by taking your business elsewhere. However, send them a letter, explaining why you are leaving, that way, perhaps they will change, at which point, you can return.

You are like a woman being beaten by her husband, but yet not leaving.

hKind of a sorry comment that as a customer you "marry" the guy who beats you least isn't it?
I don't find this the least little bit unusual when it comes to the VFF.

i just read the link...all it says is CWA was to LISTEN no more no less.
i believe IAM went down and listened also...no more no less. ;)
