Cutover is 3 weeks away and unless there is a lot of unannounced training to take place, I fear a rocky transition. Does anyone know what the preprations are for cutover day? Is management at all levels going to be on the scene as they are normally off that day? Anyone know of extra steps being taken to lessen the cutover problems? I think that it would be helpful for employees to hear the answers to these questions. It could lessen the anxiety if it was known that management was WELL prepared for all contingencies. Or it may be that employees have good reasons to be very anxious.

I am so glad I will be watching this one from the sidelines! Best wishes to all you customer service people.............

As a customer I will avoid US around then. Good Luck guys. I hope the same IT person that designed the Web site isn't in charge. If that is the case, maybe you'll be flying by Christmas. I wish everyone Good Luck! I am gonna invest some stock in Liquor, I have a feeling its gonna go up.

I don't know, that was the answer we got in the 2 day class. One of the agents in another class counted every time the trainers answered the question with I don't know, they counted 74 times in 2 days.I know it will be a mess. They messed up the web-site,and the fleet and c/s paychecks,so we all know this will be a CLUSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our IT department will screw it up. I am bidding this day and surrounding days OFF!

Our station posted a bid for QIK over SHARES training about 45 days ago, the entire station will have been thru the training 10 days before cutover , If you have been working in QIK over SABRE you should not really have a problem I have been using QIK/SABRE since late OCT, experience a few problems but nothing I could not FIX. I will be going to a HP Station a week prior to cutover to work live QIK SHARES so when the CUTOVER happens ( I would think it will be in the middle of the NIGHT most EAST Stations send out their last flight PRIOR to midnight and the earliest flights are not out until 0530 at most stations. Since the WESTCOAST RED EYES will be airborn they will take off out of QIK/
SABRE and land under QIK/SHARES. ALL WEST FLIGHS are already on SHARES so no PROBLEM. I have seen all the FLIGHT # becoming the SAME. Question is will the transition from reservations in SABRE be able to be moved to SHARES with little problems, any reservation booked on the usairways.com website is already in SHARES it is 401 ticket stock. While anything booked in SABRE is 037. Question is when we go to ONE OPERATING certificate will it be 401 or 037 since the 037 is tied to US AIRWAYS. I would suggest everyone flying Mar 3 and forward PRINT a copy of their reservation. GOOD LUCK

Will there be HP agents deployed to US stations to aid in cutover? During Sabre there were several AA agents in CLT for the switch.

I was speaking to a club agent yesterday who told me that their biggest fear is that there were certain things they could do in Sabre that they can't do in Shares--she referred to the sophistication and capability of Shares (or lack thereof). She specifically said there were things they could do in Sabre for East customers that they won't be able to do in Shares (I don't know what she is referring to but am trying to find out.)

Would anyone have any more information as to what she might be referring to? We'd like to make this an issue for Tempe along with the email chain we're sending on the 320 etc.

Please help us help you....we're all in this together.

My best to you all....

These would be things like waiving fees and not charging for things that should cost money without having to account for them. It's OK if they waive fees, they just have to justify it, and I imagine that it will cause some people to make pause before doing these types of things for anybody. Remember, when in doubt, do what's right for the customer, but everything can not be free.

And to answer Travelpro's question, it will be the evening of 3/3. The last I had heard, everything will be manual effective w/ the West Coast redeyes and LAS night flight bank, so it will all be HP stations. It will all be live the morning of the 4th to lessen customer impact. The one thing a lot of people don't know is that while QIK remains mostly the same for HP agents, the entire platform is moving to an all new Shares, so it's not the lesser version of Shares that HP is currently on.
