CO to join Star

That is exactly how I feel. I can continue to fly CO and use UA to pick up any slack. I will probably drop AA. So, let's see if CO pees on its elites and does away with the 500-mile minimum. Also, UA and CO FF programs don't match-up at all. I wonder if there will be changes and if CO/UA customers will get the perks of upgrades, etc. when flying the other airline. The relationship between UA and CO is more extensive than US's relationship with UA. I also wonder if UA will start honoring AmexPlat cardholders as a pass into the club like CO does. CO clubs are way nicer too--free drinks, free snacks, free internet. Let's see if the standards go down or UA's goes up. We all know US will remain decaying at the bottom of the barrel.

My name is Bobbie. I am not any station manager nor do I work in the airline industry. I'm a business owner, a wife, a mother, and a Christian. I certainly don't consider myself to be a socialite but you can call me what you wish. I don't work for US Airways. I have never worked for US nor any other airline. US used to work for me until I showed them the door. I am a very frequent flyer and made many friends while flying on AWA and US, some of whom I still maintain contact.

I was Platinum in FlightFund and Chairman's Preferred on US pre-merger. I flew AWA for my short runs out here and US for my transcons. I think I'm unique in that I'm intimately familiar with both operations as they were before the merger. When this merger was announced, I was very optimistic, but that optimism was met with lies, more lies, and total betrayal by the company to which I was loyal

Now that you've got my life story here, let's get the thread back on topic

You are funny! I got the giggles...... I like people like you that can put some humor into this drama ..
I work for United as a flight attendant and just pop over here to read the funny stuff..... I need to get in bed..
My thoughts are with you.. That's what these blogs are for... express yourself and get it off your chest..
nite nite

You can wave your finger all you want at me. I'm not the one supporting a substandard airline that put themselves in the position they're in.

I'd describe my mood right now as jubilant. This entire situation makes US look like the lowest-grade carrier in Star Alliance....and that's because they are LOW GRADE.
get back with US when you're not losing 550 mil a qter and you're not looking up to US in performance [edited]

IMO this is NOT a good turn of events for US Airways on any level I can determine. B6 could easily fill in the blanks route wise if US falters. Also if US falters completely B6 could easily have a ready made second hub in CLT and LH would fund it.
JetBlue doesn't come anywhere near being able to fill the void. B6 can't take pax to places like Dayton, Binghamton, Charleston (both), Huntsville, and so on. They can do a great job for all of the Germans looking to holiday in Florida.

Perhaps you should ask yourself the same question? How many posts have you poured your little neurons into all the while your job and extensive "piloting" career is crumbling around you (again)? Take a look around for a change. A little self reflection can be enlightening. Peace.

Prechilill,
Did I ever say I was a pilot for US Airways? Go back and read my notes over the last, what, five years. A little clue might be "enlightening" for ewe and your West friends.

Later,
Eye

B6 has state of the art IFE. (Compared to UA & US) I like my DirecTV. This cuts out PHL as a gateway as LH could use EWR, JFK, BOS, JFK, IAD. What I see is CO South America Network adding that void. Maybe they'll keep the "Elite Business Traveler" on CO and the Clampetts on UA & US. Would make sense that way!

I doubt US will be out of Star any time soon.

I do predict that by the end of the year or early 2009, with continued high fuel prices and massive losses at all the major airlines, CO will revisit the idea of a full merger with UA. Now that the relationship between CO and UA that has been talked about for months is finally maturing and the two airlines start working more closely together, combined with the recent downsizing at both airlines, they position themselves better for a future merger. Much the same way Dl and NW ended up together.

Try sinking well into 7 figures of your business' money into an airline over the years that treats customers like US treats theirs and talk to me about disgruntled. I'm downright livid at what's gone on and I apologize if the reality of the situation disturbs you. Your customers feel the pain just as bad as you do. Do you not think I read what you guys are saying? I know it's absolutely scandalous what they've done to you and the airlines you worked so hard to build. What started out as a team effort for the mutual benefit of everyone has turned into a party for the people at the top on the backs of the customers and the employees. It's no longer a "team" mentality at this airline. Everything I've seen and encountered indicates it's Us vs. Them and that's no way to build employee morale.

What makes it particularly disheartening were the years I enjoyed very good if not excellent service on both America West and US Airways, probably from some of you. For that, I thank you.

The only salvation of this airline will be a renewed commitment to customer satisfaction and is with that in mind that I choose to be vocal as to the gravity of the situation.

Noun 1. Lividity - A state of fury so great the face becomes discolored.

Obviously the face fits.......

Stop backpedaling. Now you are so on our side...again, please take your sudden (fake) sanctimonious outrage to some Summer Salvation Tent meeting and choose to be vocal there.

No, you do not feel our pain as we do if you are gleeful with the idea of loss of Star Alliance Membership. You are a taunting little teenager. Suggest you put some of your 7 figures in travel money towards impulse control therapy.

Despite your hateful comments, I want you to know that I love you for that. I love you because God told me to. If I weren't a woman of faith, I'd probably feel differently. You have a blessed evening.

Just because U think US owns PHL, doesn't mean that you have the power to run the rest of us. For twenty-three years I've been dying to tell you what I thought of you! And now... well, being a Christian woman, I can't say it! Now you go sling some cokes for the pax before they worry themselves into anemia!

You are a total fraud and everybody knows it. The only other explination is that you are wealthy due to winning the lottery. Why are you so happy to see other people suffer just for your revenge? Yeah very christ like.

Spoken like a true friend of Dorothy

PineyBob has said it the best. I think *A is covering it's bases in case something were to happen to UA or US failing.

No airline can just kick US out of *A. It just does not work that way.

Now if US were to pull down some of their codeshares with *A members...then we can start seeing a problem.

Currently within *A US code shares with UA, LH, JK, BMI, Asiana, Air New Zealand, Swiss, Singapore Airlines and TAP Portugal.

Just because US has changed it's DM program....that is not going to get them thrown out of *A. The other airlines actually could care less how they operate their program. As long as they can still sell seats on US and get traffic...that is what it boils down too. I am sure the other *A partners are more than happy to take US' customers.
