CLT-SMF returns

TUS-CLT was a head scratcher. Those flights were overbooked every night. Talked to the station manager right before the last day back in Jan and said "yeah, but you know the company always talks about the damn yeild"? He said to me, "No, the yeild was definately there". ???

Once upon a time.

You could fly from TUS (godforsaken desert South) to ABQ (you can drive to Santa Fe from here) to PIT (Is that a tree?).

Blacktail you are right on! Why are we running 5 flights a day in and out of LAS??!! I heard from one of your operations mgr's we are keeping our slots so we don't lose them to the competition. I believe IF we had enough 757's we would fly the CLT and PHL routes, and the 319 could make it but would be weight restricted on a daily basis???! WHY can't Airbus make an single body airplane with long range capabilities like Boeing?? They need to get off there European short minds, and think Uniteeeeed Staaaatessssss!! LOL
HP also use to fly PHX-SEA-ANC-SEA-SNA-PHX on a 737. Would be nice to see US Air fly more point to point Service on the West Coast, and BRING BACK more PHOENIX FLYING !!

I didn’t realize SNA had that many flights in were FAA controls the takeoff and landing slots

SNA is very busy for an airport its size, but the slot controls are because the County of Orange had to reach a settlement with surrounding communities (ahem, Newport Beach), to limit the number of operations and passengers that travel though the airport on an annual basis. There are some of the strictest noise abatement procedures, fines and curfews of any airport in the country.

SNA, was the airport there first or all them people? Its like moving next to a bar and complaining about drunks. :censored: :elvis:

Ya know, when I lived in Orange County there was soooo much talk about John Wayne Airport. Everybody (Newport) complained about the airport and the noise. Then there was talk of turning the since closed El Toro Marine base into an airport. Everybody wants to alleviate driving to LAX or SAN yet they don't want planes flying over their yards from SNA. And talk about feeling like your on a rocket launch flying out of there.
