Changes already at HDQ....

As a Texaco "retiree" (when I left Texaco, I was already 50 years old; so, I could retire, die, or get fired, but I couldn't "quit"), I have never been allowed to access company property beyond the security guard desk without an active employee escort since the day I left at the end of May, 1995.

If you are talking about AA employees in Dallas, SLC, and CIN, don't know about SLC or CIN, but there is at least one credit union branch in Dallas outside SIDA area in Terminal C. If you are talking about DL employees, never mind. But, if there is an active branch of the DL credit union in Dallas, their employees are getting more than employees in most companies (airline or other) when a major operation in a given city is shut down.
I'm talking about Delta.

Dallas is the largest city of Delta employees outside of Atlanta. (at least for the DAL-S side.) Well over 2,000 actives employees IIRC. Also the call center is still there.

Atlanta has them in the airport, at the hangar, at the HQ....at the DCCU HQ right across the street from the HQ. and ~20 branches spread out across the metro Atlanta area.

Looking on the web site, CVG is offsite at the airport. (i swear they use to have one in Concourse B) and Dallas is northwest of the airport. (once again, swear it was on E.....and one at the Hangar)
SLC seems to be at the cargo building in SLC, no idea how you get in to it.

but anyways, I agree. It is very good that Delta keeps the CU around for its employees, familys and retirees in Dallas. Kind of amazing places like LA, NYC, SEA, DTW and MSP don't have one.

SEA/DTW/MSP all have Wings Credit unions.

Makes sense when you think about how many PMNW people there had/have accounts there. Not certain, but I'm guessing not all that many have changed to DCCU- at least not enough to justify opening branches?

I figured most wouldn't change, but As they hire more people just assumed they would be pushing them all to DCCU. (I know they are here)

are you talking about credit union members or total DL employees?

If so, I would have to believe that DL has more employees in NYC than DFW. There are a lot of commuters and I know the res office boosts the DFW numbers, but active employees are far more significant in determining the size of the employee base.

The DECU ATMs at LGA and what was JFK (old T3 not sure if it was moved) did a brisk business, undoubtedly bringing in a lot of cash for the CU.

Further, there is no doubt that MSP is DL's second largest city for employees with DTW right behind. Those are DL employees now.

DECU has not tried to push into former NW hubs to open CUs. Wings never really was strong in ATL

As E notes, credit unions are separate businesses and all of the former airline CUs now have significant customer bases outside of the airline employees although they have retained their historic employee bases as well.

There was a time when active DL employees could move thru DL facilities but that isn't the case as much anymore, esp. at TechOps which has been curbed due to the facility having ramp access.

While Parker might want to set a new culture at AA, there is no reasonable expectation as Jim notes for the average employee to be able to walk into the Csuite of any large company unannounced.

Does US Airways have an employee credit union?
Yes, there is Clearview in PIT from the east side. As far as I know there is only one branch located off the airport. The other one from the west side is Alliant FCU. I'm not sure how many branches they have or where they are located.

It's actually only a spinoff of account holders in certain geographical locations and becomes effective after the close of business on 2/28/2014.  These former Clearview (US Airways CU) accounts were transferred to PACU.  If you are one of these accounts you should have received a booklet and ballot.  At any rate, it was approved and you will soon be members of PACU.

Here is a page with questions and answers regarding the spinoff:

Clearview will continue to exist, just not in as many areas as before.

My prediction from the alternate reality traveling world:
Delta's credit union is by far number 1 in the greater NYC market. I am quite sure they are a close second in the N. Texas area and surely have AA on the ropes.

With the expansion of SEA, the credit union market there is soon to be taken over by Delta by using precisely the same method used to dominate NYC.

Although backing down in NRT, I am quite sure that Delta will utilize a JV with other credit unions in that market to right-size and supplement its strategic redeployment of credit unions and ATM's.

I also saw where Delta has loaded next years planned ATM additions in the system. It appears they are going directly for the SWA credit union users with an aggressive push, deploying ATM's in locations in SWA strongholds.

The merger of AA and USAir will further weaken the combined carriers ability to attract new credit union users and they will likely see a drop in market share compared to Delta.

This will definitely bring change at the Headquarters because AA will have to act quickly to thwart the massive Delta onslaught.
