Changes already at HDQ....

Thanks for staying on topic, guys...If there are full service off-airport branches in both Owasso and Broken Arrow, why should anyone but active employees need access to the branch on the base?...This isn't just a TUL thing. After 9/11, most non-active members lost access to facilities on the secure side of airport terminals. ORD now has two off-airport branches as a result.
The CU and pass office are on the (non secure) side of the turn styles in Tulsa. There is no good reason for banning retiree's from using those facilities.

On a side note I have seen a crew chief that retired, and he was spending almost has much time on the base as he did before retirement. I can see banning retiree's from the (secure) side of the fence from a liability reason.

How can anyone expect a no-longer active retiree access to a secure area.
Credit union branches should NOT be in secure/restricted areas.

This is it in a nutshell! I believe retirees have an ID that will get you in the gate and CU access but to get inside the secure area you must get a visitor badge...Not sure of the process for getting a visitors badge..

Exactly..

Let's hear more about changes that will effect the labor force still on the property!

Heard the other day that US does not have the same levels of "manager" in their system in maintenance at least and they may be getting rid of some in AAs system..Managing Director then below him will be Supervisor..

All rumor of course!

First....  That should say $17 Million for what Whoreton is getting.  Second....  eolesen has proven over time that he is an elitist.  I have him on ignore but for some reason I looked to see what he posted.  I should have known he would be justifying another useless stupid move by management.

"Whoreton"? If you were offered $15-$20 million what would you say? "Sorry I can't accept this pay out of the goodness of my heart?"

The unions wanted to get rid of Horton, and at any price. Seems to me that $17M is about 75% the $22M that you and the other creditors had agreed to, so what's not to like?

I'm sure he'd be happy to stick around, but this is the airline you asked for.

irrelevant.  No one is ever going to offer a peon like me $17 million.  The fact that millions will be thrown at the people who extorted money from the employees is disgusting but I do think Whoreton is the correct spelling.  If not it ought to be.

Not that I agree with it

but I know at Delta its done the same way. Only way a retiree can get on base is if he has an escort from an active employee.

We were told it was due to 9/11......but it has been this way for as long as i can remember.

Now having said that, as far as I know Delta retirees are welcome to come into the HQ without an escort.

I have no idea how it works for people in Dallas, Salt Lake City and Cinny where you need a SIDA badge to get to the credit unions.
As a Texaco "retiree" (when I left Texaco, I was already 50 years old; so, I could retire, die, or get fired, but I couldn't "quit"), I have never been allowed to access company property beyond the security guard desk without an active employee escort since the day I left at the end of May, 1995.

If you are talking about AA employees in Dallas, SLC, and CIN, don't know about SLC or CIN, but there is at least one credit union branch in Dallas outside SIDA area in Terminal C. If you are talking about DL employees, never mind. But, if there is an active branch of the DL credit union in Dallas, their employees are getting more than employees in most companies (airline or other) when a major operation in a given city is shut down.

I don't know why you have a problem with management. You've also had the same opportunities many have had, maybe not to the tune of $17 million but multiple millions and not have to put up with b.s. :)

Correction; Jim Little, an alumni of AA management who flies around on Pass Travel way above anything you ever saw and is to receive a Pension from AA based upon the salary "reported by the Union" was in favor of getting rid of Horton at any price, the elected representatives of the TWU were never asked, and Little has since been removed. So when you say "the Unions" your claim lacks merit.

Since the credit unions are separate entities from the companies they're associated with, you still see some keeping a brick & mortar facility in a place where the related company has pulled out, especially where there are a lot of retirees.

But, what many seem to be doing is the service center model with other credit unions (which has worked out really well for us personally). I haven't stepped foot in an AA branch for years, preferring to use another CU's facility for transactions I have to do in person.

Same here E. I have accounts in 4 different credit unions. None of which have offices in my current city. I use the CUSC system.
