AAG is American Airlines Group, the name of AMR post-merger.
American made clear it will keep fighting post-bankruptcy to end its obligation to provide retiree health benefits. It has an adversary proceeding before U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane seeking to do so. The last hearing was held more than four months ago, and both the airline and the Official Committee of Retirees have been waiting since for Lane to rule on American’s request. With the outcome of its efforts still unclear, American added this language to its proposed plan of reorganization: The Debtors intend to continue to prosecute the Retiree Adversary Proceeding, and to the extent the Retiree Adversary Proceeding has not been finally resolved by the Effective Date, New AAG shall continue to prosecute the Retiree Adversary Proceeding subsequent to the Effective Date. AAG is American Airlines Group, the name of AMR post-merger.
