Doug Parker Letter on Change In Control

But the rumors are flying that this is going to get delt away.A emergency meeting was called with the IAM to work something out per 2nd shift line steward in PHL.Yo A...... is this true.

Better not be true

When is this emergency meeting?

The company's position regarding "change of control" is laughable. The part where they say that the transaction just happened by various unconnected parties not "in concert" will not hold up.
Unfortunately for the IAM fleet service folks, the IAM wants very much to negotiate your "pay snapback" away in a transition agreement for other things that are much more important to the IAM than your $4.00 an hour snapback, and back pay.

also news swirling that if they do go to arbitration and lose, they will keep the west in their current expired contract until 2009 and negotiate a new one for both parties so they can pay the east on the backs of the west. I must say if this happens PHX/LAS will walk.

You cant walk, it is against the RLA and your CBA and you will be terminated.

To IAM fleet: neither the Company nor IAM fleet wants this to go to arbitration. Watch out, the IAM will negotiate your contractual right to snapback pay and back pay away for "other, more important things". You had better make some noise to those involved.
You heard it here.

The letter was dated April 24, several days before the bk court ruling. There was another letter dated April 27, the day of the ruling, stating that they "disagreed with the honorable judge" but would go to arbitration with a lot of wwwwwaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in between the lines.

There was a mention of "exploring our options", which I interpret as an appeal of the ruling.
Barbie T,do you have the letter from the 27 were looking for it help...

It was under glass in Vegas but it said the same thing as the letter on the 24th, It also said to read the letter from DP for more info. And If I get a copy I will post it.

The LAS Union Negotiation Team Member was called to CLT yesterday and will return tomorrow??? Hope he has good news?????

The arbitration team was called to CLT to discuss the details of the upcomimhg (still undeterminded date) arbitration hearing. No emergency transition negoations had been held. That was strictly a rumor.

They will, look at NWA with the AMTs and look at Alaska with the ramp in SEA.

All replaced.
