Absolutely! No BS about vacation, sick days, dues paying warm bodies, etc. If we have to fund our own retirement, pay a large chunk of medical costs, and work more hours, then the bottom line is where it's at. Today it's my bottom line.

This is not just a fleet grievance, it is also a mechanic and related, they are not going to negotiate it away, if that was going to take place the grievance would have been dropped and the IAM would not have gone to Federal Court to get the arbitration forced.

I hope you are right, but we both know the IAM is completely capable of treating fleet one way, and mechs another.

One need look no farther than recall rights.

I guess you were not in an HMO nor a participant in the 401k program?

And yes they used the bankruptcy court to get out of paying the airbus award, but the others were paid and they continue to pay the 401K match.

AMEN!

If the arbitration is complete and it goes in the IAM's favor we will be at a better postion at the table for a tranistion agrrement.
The east side wages would go up,being a target for west wage increase. It would not just benifit the east side, but both.
Then one the other hand if the company fears the IAM's winning of the arbitration, the transition could be richly rewarding for both sides.
By the series of events changing, arbitration being put off,Im afraid it will put us in crap shoot mode I hate that.
I look for transition talks to slow down, hate to say it but if the arbitration is not brought forward first and now things are going to drag.......you read it here,JMHO.
allstrike,
I believe you're post is right on the money,
With the arbitration put off till this fall, There goes the incentive for the company to get off their collective butts..
I would like to know if the IAM agreed to this arbitration postponement, I would like to think they didn't, Does anyone know for sure ?
Well anyway, Back to the same ole B.S. [Foot dragging 101].
