Chagning Corporate Culture?

Will he have a heathcare plan next year? Company proposes to "Eliminate all retiree medical and dental coverage" for CWA'ers. I don't see any Chagning Corporate Culture.

Golly gee, this is going to sell some tickets! <_<

And hey, I'm thinking good thoughts for that pilot who needed medical care between hubs, but thousands of ordinary folks face that same predicament on a daily basis!

Unfortunately for those poor souls they didn't have travel bennies!

So why is this one isolated incident a newsworthy???

Just like that airbus outsource lawsuit you guys are still harrumphing over.

Ain't gonna sell any more US tickets and that should be your only focus now.

Old habits never die I suppose.

(BTW, this thread is not official until PitBull pontificates)

Bob,

I hope you're right about the "changing corporate culture". Change would be good, faster would be better but even a snail's pace would be something.

Having said that, however, it is interesting that the proposed change in sick policy comes at a time when the company's contract proposals would make the current and previous policies moot.

In other words, are they offering up something that in reality has no value in hopes of getting what they really want....

Jim

And guess what else? This titbit was negotiated by the flight attendant's and was on their plate prior to the pilot's. Yet, our MEC chairman is taking credit for getting back our previous sick policy as if it was something to crow about. The company did not implement what we originally negotiated and now they are "changing the culture" by giving back something that was never given to them in the first place.

Judging by the pace of the negotiations this company fully expects to land in C11 once again. They are settting us up for the dreaded and oft repeated "deadline" and we have no time left scenario. You know, the scenario that negated the pilot DB plan. There are no meaningful negotiations taking place among any employee groups right now. Just fishing expeditions and hunting trips by this inept and incompetent management. C11 is coming, you can count on it.

This company is so F'D up!!!

...management took the initiative to assist a pilot who needed to fly between two of our hubs to receive medical treatment for a serious health condition. I learned that our company provided space-positive travel to this pilot to ensure his ability to travel on these flights to receive his scheduled treatments...

Wow! They've taken his DBP, really beat the pulp out of his salary, raked him over the coals by minimizing his medical -- all of which could possibly have caused or exacerbated the illness for which he now requires treatments. Praise the corporation, Whoop de freakin' doo.

Coming soon: Adding another boost to the immune system by asking for even more.

Corporate culture change? The whole thing is disgusting.
