AWAskyprincess,
That's not bad. You'll enjoy Paris and bring a real comfortable pair of shoes because you'll be walking like you've never walked before. To save time, the METRO is easy and wonderful to use. My favorite place is the Latin Quarter and Jardin du Luxembourg it will be in full bloom in June, not to be missed.

Bon Voyage!

I haven't been to Paris in almost 2 years, but echo what everyone has said about public transportation.

Depending on how long you're going to be there, you might want to check out the "Charte L'Orange" or Orange Card. It's good for unlimited metro/bus travel for a week (Monday thru Sunday only). The cost depends on which zones you wish to travel within, with zone 1 being central paris and zone 5 including the airport, EuroDisney, etc. The price is a bargain if your timetable allows getting several days use from one weeks price - 16 euros for zone 1/2 (downtown) and 32 euros for zones 1-5.

If you're interested, be sure to take along an extra full-face photo - a spare passport photo will do, though we just went to a copy shop and got a photocopy of our passport photo page and cut out the photo. You can get the Orange Card at most any metro/RER station, including the one at the airport.

Have fun.

I see you've already got a hotel..but just wanted to mention I've had really good luck renting apartments when I stay in Paris for a few days. There are a multitude available if you search online. Most have laundry, many have internet connections, and you can save so much money eating a few meals at home, and finding food in the markets is an adventure in itself. And I too have always found the French to be very friendly and helpful, as long as they're approached in the right way, just like anyone would want to be.
