15 to 20? Dont think so , not even in LGA or JFK.
According to Bob Owens they have been hiring off the street at LGA and JFK for a while so 15 to 20 years seniority would probably be ok there.

If NY isn't cold enough for you, they also hired in ORD.

At JFK 15 years from today would put someone at #214 of 362 and 20 years would put someone at #134 of 362! I don't know the shift makeup there but would think they could get at least 2nd shift.

Ok as far as being able to get there Yes, Ok as far as Days with 15 to 20 years- NO, Afts, maybe.

My guess is that 65% are on nights. This is line maint, not OH, most work nights. Now you know why so many are pissed at Tulsa for getting rid of the shift premiums and keeping it at ridiculous low rates for decades prior to that-most industries give at least 10%. So #134 may make afternoons because some senior guys choose to stay on Night 5 day b-check to get the weekends off , but if that goes away figure they will bid off nights.

Not gonna happen anyway, unless guys choose to bid vacancies on the line, which you will see, but I doubt we will ever see 400 guys from OH bump onto the line and displace 400 line guys. Even when we merge with US, they will offer buyouts as part of the joint agreement. US mechanics are even older than we are. When US and Continental merged they didnt layoff any mechanics, when Delta and NW merged, same thing, SWA and air tran, same thing, no mechanics were laid off. There is a shortage, they just don't want to admit it .

TULE Opens SIS Amidst Workforce Adjustments

Yesterday, management at TULE and TAESL, American’s joint venture with Rolls Royce, announced adjustments to the workforce at each location in response to changing business needs. In TULE, lines for airframe modifications have reached completion, which reduces staffing needs by 278 employees. Because of a reduction of heavy checks and reduced operation of older fleets, staffing in the component overhaul shop will decline by 32.

So, is that 278 or 32 jobs not saved?
