Literally, you are absolutely correct. But I'm assuming that ubwu is talking "metaphorically" here, meaning the sale of the assets that constitued an operation instead of an operating entity.
If we sold the slots needed to operate a shuttle-type operation, maybe some airplanes also, then we stopped operating a shuttle and the buyer of the assets started one, the end result is that the "shuttle operation" has been transfered even though no entity called "US Airways Shuttle" ever changed hands.
Likewise for MDA. It the Emb-170's were sold, MDA would cease to exist as a part of U. No entity called MDA changed hands, but the assets that made up MDA did.
