Attended Stan Herman's meeting today in Phoenix

I would LOVE to party with y'all too! Im good for coffee but tea is a no no! Love those Krisry creams but they are tough to get off my bottom half! We could also party out in this side of the country, we have pools, malls and margaritas! (Use lots of moisturizer here but not much chance of a party getting rained out!) The only objection I have-no country music-get tired of hearing the dog died, the girlfriend left, and out of whiskey, oh yeah and the trailer burned!

I would love a good margarita party and FYI, my party music includes NO country music. Dance music and fun top 40. My New York days left me cozy with DJ's that send me the latest in club music.

"Let's get this party started right."

Oh, and invite JMM. That one needs some drinks, a hug, and a good....never mind. :bleh:  :D

Glad to see a tie is still in the mix. I believe, at least for international, a tie should be required, however for the summer months a shirt that looks good without a tie would be nice for us domestic folks.

I So Agree. I ALWAYS Wear My Tie On TransAtlantic!

i personally would like a vest option.

Then make sure you let Stan know when he goes to PHL and CLT. I like a vest option too for Men and Women because I would like to wear one during the summer months if we are not going to be required to wear a tie or scarves. It just pumps up the uniforms a bit.

He did say that he would like to see 3 different styles of shirts. I like that actually, it gives us more options. (Perhaps different shades of blue?)
He also said that it's going to be different from JetBlue Airlines. :)

I like his idea of a symphony of different shades of blue. It would be interesting to see what he comes up with.

He had an assistant with him taking notes the whole entire meeting asking for our inputs and concerns.

LCC I love your music choice!! I do need a lot of things and drinks are always number one on the list. However, I recommending partying San Diego where the boys are prettier and you do not need moisturizer :)

Allowing a professional designer was definetly the right way to go on this one. It's one thing to come up with a livery for the aircraft in-house, which by the way I think they did a terrific job, and dressing up. Selecting and matching clothes for a large workforce is definetly an endeavor worth paying an expert for. Tell ya, I wish I had to wear a uniform...make getting dressed in the mornin' much much easier!

JMM, Sorry to disappoint you but at my age I need moisturizer WHEREEVER we party!! I agree with the music choice though and I remember partying the NYC scene, years ago. Use to be a great dance club called the Underground. used to hang a bit with some dj's and some bands-maybe someone on the east side might remember a little known-pretty much unknown band called Norman Nordini and the Tigers-(Pit area)I think, thats how they ended up. Too much partying was a way of life back then. These days boys, I will be your designated driver!!! And of course, if you partied anywhere near the NYC area the Stone Pony was a must every couple months or so!

Oh JMM

You piissed me off on another thread, but good one!! LOVE SAN!!

Ron Cole attended the meeting today as well.
Any talk of "specialty" items for Hawaii/Carribean routes? I'd still love to see ties/scarves with a tropical theme as an option on those flights. It would just add a little something. Or, possibly, very distinctive Hawaiian-style shirts -- at least on the HA runs and Cancun from Phoenix, etc (where you don't have domestic legs before/after).

I'd still like to see red and turquoise incorporated, too, somewhere. Today's US Airways red and the old America West tealy-turquoise really do look good together and very well with navy and many other shades of blue, too. White shirts with different striping of blues, red, teal would be one way to differentiate the workgroups...

Keeping gray out of the mix is exciting news. Gray is a flattering color on very, very few people.

Oh, and my parties? Martini's and swing, jazz, & a little rock & roll. ;) B)

unfortunately i wont be able to attend any of the meetings since i will be at the beach with the family for the next few days. i do wear a vest that was mistakenly sent to me by cintas last summer when i ordered a`sweater vest. i get alot of compliments on it. i think the vest belongs to airtran. i wear it without a tie . i think it looks sharp with or without a tie. not many people could get away with wearing a vest, so that's why it should be an option. ron cole saw me with it and he said he liked it alot. it looks professional but yet casual .

Well, truth be told, I use it everywhere too ... getting a bit old I suppose.

Perhaps USAirways can offer some type of employee fitness/weight loss plan concurrent with the new uniform program.

While morbid obesity is the advancing National disease, no where is it more visible than in the ranks of the USAirways employee groups. With the high cost of medical insurance currently and higher going forward, perhaps the company would be motivated to have a healthier, more fit work force.

USAirways East, in particular has a more mature work force that while generally not self-motivated toward this goal, might be inspired by corporate leadership. Fifty dollars is already being disbursed for the "Hat Trick." How about 50 bucks for 50 pounds as an incentive towards "streamlining" our employee groups?

Good luck to Mr. Herman in designing a range of clothing that fits the myriad of shapes and sizes in this workforce.

I couldnt agree more!! I think the average weight in phx rez is at least 200lbs. Its very sad and because I see it everyday I really watch what I eat and make every effort to get to the gym. I cant tell you how many agents are getting the stomach stapling surgury. Many are also under consultation for it. I think its upwards of $20,000. I have suggested bringing in a nutritionist and getting rid of all the crap they have in vending machines and from the outside vendors. I also have suggested bringing in a personal trainor to see if they could give some suggestions for excercises to be done while standing at a computer or while sitting. Nothing wrong with every hour asking every one to pick up both their legs while sitting or even 1 at a time. With attendance being a major issue and paying sicktime and again healthcare costs I thought it would be a benefit. How about group discounts to a gym or even Curves? How about bringing a physician(Tempe has them on staff) over to help agents quit smoking. Many would like to but its an addiction. I truly believe if they brought physicians on site occasionally to monitor bp and cholesterol they might cut down on health costs. I have suggested a Biggest Loser type program with a weigh in but of course it didnt fly. They could have their physicians in Tempe trvl to offsite locations so everyone could benefit. One of the most annoying things last year was the flu shot. If you went to hq for the shot it was free but when they brought the flu shot to rez they made agents pay for it. I said forget about it(my children received it) I'd rather take the sick time.(It was just anger. I didnt get the shot nor did I get the flu!-just lucky.) It would be nice if they considered any of these things but dont count on it.
