Delta is changing the MD11 from the ATL-NRT route in January, to a 777.

Last day for the MD11's will be Dec 31, 2003. Right now, the only MD11's that are active in the fleet are those flying the ATL-NRT flight. They've all been pulled off of the transatlantic flights and ATL-MCO runs.

Thanks for the info. One more question. DAL only has like 7 or 8 777's in the fleet. What routes are losing 777 service to accommodate the 777 going ATL-NRT?

Delta has few 777 and needs more. They should have 20. If AA has 43 and UA about 60, You can conclude Delta has too few 777. If they ever see LHR they will need many more.
