Unofficial count from DCA, THB 202, Ward 121. Later indications are Ward catching up but still a bit behind. Counting slowed by lack of ballot counting machines. More later.

Is this the final count? Those numbers are of no use unless we know the context.

God, I hope they are not final. Regardless of who wins, I would hate to think that the next 4 years of APFA have been decided by less than 1/4 of the total membership. And less than 1/3 of the working flight attendants.

Today's program is brought to you by the word apathy. Can you say apathy, children?

I don't think that is the final count - I just think L1011 is kindly informing us of the latest count.

Latest is DFW, LGA and STL to go. JW leading by less than 100 votes. If you use the votes in the last election as a way of estimating, JW will lose. b

BOS, DCA, LAX, SFO, RDU, SLT counted. Ward slightly ahead. 14000 total votes cast. Three large bases to go. This is going to take awhile. As for why I am interested, my spouse would like to return to work.

Billy,

Why would the election of one candidate over the other affect whether or not American Airlines will recall your spouse? What does one thing have to do with the other?

It has a lot to do with it. JW is very hostile to TWAers and as his web site indicated during the election with Swastikas and other really vile stuff that could only remind one of the Klu Klux Klan, and Nazi germany, who needs to involved in a workplace that is so hostile to another workgroup? A small number of APFA members have indicated such hate for the TWAers that it borders on hate crimes. The more ardent JW admirers appear to stir the hate pot regularly. That JW does nothing about the hate flowing in APFA is a sign of his character. I'd like to see a union that is a bit more open and receptive to ALL its members. Nothing like that is going to happen under JW.

You seem to be giving this guy an awful lot of credit. If American Airlines flight attendants dislike TWA flight attendants, I am sure it is for very different reasons than you have cited.

Sounds to me like a lot of hysteria. Sorry but I don't buy it.

I've spent some time over on the United board, and have been met with similar hostility. Are all US airline employees really THAT angry? Seems to me like alot of drama.

IO-

People tend to get that way when they have thier jobs stolen from them after 5, 10, 15, 35, and 40 years......

JW beats THB by 7 votes. Since all margins were less than 10%, per APFA bi-laws, a manual recount will be held
