Anybody have any info about the new manager of DFW?

The CS policy at DFW hardly ever gets enforced, there are lots of folks working 16hrs a day 7 days a week.
At integration, or maybe before, welcome to work brain. It won't let you book that many doubles or trade into them unless its overtime...

At DFW we still have the ability to put CS's on paper and turn them into the admin window before or after the shift. There are a lot of last minute CS's...I just did one a few days ago when a lady had to leave early cause her kid was sick at school.

At US they do mostly double double single then off.

Its contractual that you can do a back to back swap once in your work week.

Funny you can work five days of doubles on OT though.
Actually, seven days of doubles on OT.  You can double your days off.

Unlikely. We tried Workbrain, and the MD in IT who was responsible for its evaluation is now the new CIO...

Maybe minds and the product have changed since then, but she's the one who went with me in front of the CIO and CEO to make the case for keeping StaffPlan/StaffAdmin/StaffManager in place. Staff is fully integrated with the flight ops system and DCS, and given the commercial relationship with Sabre, I'd be surprised to see Workbrain remain anywhere except for the call centers.

To get back on topic..

The new USair Manager at DFW AC Mtc decided the double CS should be used only for VC and not for the commuters.. The word I received was 38 aircraft OTS for 2 days in a row which is when the original CS DFW policy was reinstated... Can any DFW AMT's verify?

Apparently this issue is widespread and the CS policy is expected to be revisited because of it.  Doubles are one thing....Working in excess of the doubles is becoming an issue from the buzz we are hearing. Can anyone truly say that working back to back doubles AND OT is safe? Those who do it are the walking dead. They can barely function.
Who would like to fly on aircraft they worked on?

I'd have to agree with Metalmover on this.. When I worked doubles and had 5 hours sleep before being back at the terminal, It was a tough day.. And the quys who did 40 in 3 days looked like hammered dog chit by day 3... But do function and get the job done..

The guys I know at Southwest  tell me you can work a triple, then you must have 8 off before you can do it again..

As we get older, the turn time on this body and mind is a bit longer.. I'm not in my 20's anymore...

..You are using the past as the rule of thumb. Remember, the past had the usual AA players in charge. Where are they now? Who's in charge now?
The team roster has changed. The old guard is gone. Most senior executive are from US, no scratch that, they're from America West.
Kenny is GONE......Jim is GONE!
There is a new culture being grown.
If they wanted things to stay BUSINESS AS USUAL at AA, Horton and Co. would still be in charge.

This is the future, boys and girls. New management brings new changes....

By who? You think the new VP of maintenance won't support a fellow US colleague?
Business as usual? Really? You do realize we have a new management team, don't you?

Anyone who thinks things won't change are living in denial.
Good, bad, or indifferent....changes are a comin!

These guys have come and gone like the sun and the moon over the last 3 decades I have been here. They come in with their big ideas, talk and the more things change the more it stays the same. You have a senior work force at DFW that has seen all of these sunshine pumpers and guys that think they are going to change things for years. Then all of a sudden they get an aluminum enema for a few days and that's that. Then they disappear into their offices to never be seen or heard from again.

Oh, and I guess I must be in denial.

You guys need to get a grip. Everyone knows what goes on. Plenty of eyelid inspections. Now, give it a rest, like what everyone else does.

Hey Man.. Not denying the inspections...  I'm good with the cs policy the way it is... leave it alone...

On the line we're firemen, and they work 48 straight..

The company even but up posters from the faa that pretty much encouraged a catnap. I am not a real cs guy but I see a very strong need for them. Plus how much money does the company save buy all these guys doing doubles as most of there shifts overlap at least 1/2 a hour at min. (the twu should be getting buy back money for the cs program, everything has a dollar figure right)

If a guy is in the work area, and the crew chiefs know where there people are when needed is the important thing.

If I work just dayshift I am so tried getting up at 430 a.m. to be at work by 6a.m. by 8.30 a.m. I  am not 100%. So then what?
