Another US red flag?

What I see is an airline with a questionable (high cost) route network (even post merger) coupled with abysmal (lowest paid in the industry) labor relations, that hasn't been able to complete a seemingly benign combination of twobring to the table) that I have a problem with. We are talking about an airline that couldn't make it in NYC, the largest business market in the US.

DP doesn't have the history, talent or experience to be the US anchor of a Global alliance airline. IMO

This is actually the sad truth of the matter....its the way I see it, too.

I would hate to see a merged airline with QIK/SHARES in place

Sabre is far superior

Problem is that AMR is in the process of replacing SABRE. Now, given the sloppy programming I'm seeing installed on other applications--like the Flight Service website, etc.--I do not hold out hope for the superiority of the new system over SABRE.

Bottom line, I like the AA basic plan, the new new planes coming and the upgrades to the entire fleet, not to mention their ever expanind ginternational route structure through operated and codeshared flying. US coming in with DP, makes me realize Delta will be the airline I will have to move my allegiance to because the pile of sh*t that will be US-AA won't be worth my money or my time.

AA is just looking like it may come out of a decade of treading water and become an industry leader again, all this merger does is muddy the waters again and derail any recovery chance for AA. God I hope, for whatever reason, that AA managment and UCC tell US air to go pound sand....

Did Hummel bother to mention why his workgroup wasn't integrated yet? To the best of my knowledge, it was due to some union issues combined with a few legal battles between his boys. Nothing Parker can do to settle their dispute.

Seniority is only one section of the contract. No serious effort has been made to close the other sections.

As a 26 yr. employee of AA I can tell you now we will never be an industry leader again. With the current raping of the workforce taking place AA has become a joke. You cannot take your most valuable asset and conyinue to say you are the problem. What once was a career is now just a job! And that my friend makes it pretty hard to survive in a service industry. Hopefully the only sand pounding that will take place is current AMR management! Either way we will find out shortly, the big meeting is tomorrow. Hopefully the UCC have had enough of this dog and pony show!

Understood, but can anything move forward prior to the seniority issue being settled? Can any negotiations even take place given the current situation?
I have no idea, so I'm just trying to better my knowledge of the situation.

AA standalone will not have the size or revenue generating capability to go it long term. Third place in any industry is never a good place to be.

There is no reason why serious negotiations cannot move forward. A pilot contract will cost LCC a minimum of $120 million bucks. They don't have to spend it as long as they stall and do nothing to help remedy the situation. It's just money, plain and simple...nothing else.
They have it, and they don't want to pay out any more of it than is absolutely necessary.

Driver...

Better pass your thoughts on to Chrysler and Marriot..

When will ALK fold, and where does this leave U ?
