I just saw in my HI6 messages that there is going to be another draw down in SJU effective next April. SJU is losing BWI,BOS,SDQ,TPA,PHL. AE is losing 10 flights. Wow, we will be practically nothing in the Caribbean soon. It took Arpey to finally dismantle Trans Caribbean!

Me thinks thou waxes a bit too poetic about how "big" Trans Carribean really was....

They only had eight aircraft (2 727's and 6 DC-8's) at the time of the merger in 1971, and IIRC, and only seven cities (JFK, IAD, SJU, STT, STX, PAP, AUA, CUR).

Last I checked, AA was still flying nonstop to all those destinations from JFK or MIA, if not both.

Not at all surprised about the draw down. Something had to give with the A300's being parked, and it probably makes more sense for AA to focus on flowing all that traffic via MIA, especially now that the Super-A is almost done.

Not surprise here either.Best wishes to JB am sure they will step in fill in most of these destinations.
