Another position AA absolutely needs

IIRC, Doug's one of the few remaining Crandall-era finance guys, so he's definitely worth keeping. Say what you will, AMR's balance sheet has remained fairly strong save the 2001-2003 timeframe where all the airlines took a dive.

It's a good thing AMR closed on Beacon before Wall Street collapsed.

Excellent move indeed. I'm sure the execs are hurting their arms patting themselves on their collective backs with such an ingenious decision. Now all they have to is reward themselves for their fine leadership. OOOOPS, MY BAD! THEY REWARD THEMSELVES EVEN WITH THE WRONG DECISIONS.

I'll give you this one Eric. The AMR crystal ball was very clear. I just hope it's also clear for some great fuel hedges?
