Another A330 reconfig?!

And why should we care anyway about the revenue? My pay, benefits, and job security have not increased as they became profitable. My quality of life and morale have in fact become worse.

Don't throw profit amounts around to someone who is making them for you by struggling to live paycheck to paycheck and explaining your moronic decisions all day long. They really are a bunch of idiots.

Is that lost $10,000,000 per seat? Or is it some other number, like 25 or 50 seats?

I notice I complain when they don't cite specific examples or statistics, and when then do, the examples and statistics are utterly unbelievable. Then I complain some more.

My friend Rose just called and said that she listend to Scott Kirby today at the training center in phx and "they are evaluating" a possible removal of some seats on the A330. He said taking out seats would cost around 10,000,000 in revenue a year!!!
Yes, but how much revenue is being lost because of the silly decisions (such as the last few rows on the 330) being made that continue to drive people away from such a crap product? I try so hard to give people the benefit of the doubt but I stopped doing that a long time ago with these goons!!! Do they actually believe that anyone even believes anything that comes out of their mouth anymore?

I believe that they believe what they say. I think their words and actions also demonstrate their level of contempt and arrogance for anyone other than themselves.

I realize that the title airline executive and Arrogant SOB are synonomous, however this group with few exceptions has raised arrogance & contempt to a whole new level heretofore unseen. One could indeed call it an art form.
Isn't THAT the TRUTH. I really don't even bother listening to their SPIN anymore......they are nothing but liars and even when they do TRY to improve things, they usually screw it up even moreso. Ever hear of the phrase, "One step forward, two steps back?" These clowns usually end up taking FIVE steps back providing they don't trip over their own feet.

How many seats equal $10M/year in revenue??!

Tempe goes round and round with their half-assed ideas and poorly implemented plans. My guess as a frequent TA flyer is that Tempe is sensitive to the TA side because that's where the big bucks are. All pax who fly TA know that the product is shoddy, especially up front. You should hear how those surprised European flyers react when they get their first taste of Envoy's dull cabin, broken IFEs, and poorly functioning seats -- I just sit there taking it all in watching the fruits of disaftisfaction that Tempe grows. So when your TA cash cow is getting negative vibes from the cattle ( I'm sorry, they're paying pax aren't they ), I guess that Tempe can suddenly fly into action and try to part the waters.

Of course if Tempe is overly concerned about the loss of $10 mil for yet another cabin reconfig, they could get DP to give up his seat and the pile of money he's sitting on.

I wouldn't have believed it, but I saw it with my own eyes.

Tempe? Do you even have a f*&king clue?

Q’s from Crew News
Questions answered by President Scott Kirby at this week’s Crew
News in PHX (watch the video on awaCompass and theHub).

Q. Are we removing a row of seats from coach on the A330?

A. We currently have no plans to remove a row of seats from coach
on the A330. The cost of removing the row of seats outweighs the
benefits of extra legroom for our coach customers. Most coach-paying
customers base their ticket purchases on the lowest fare available,
not the most legroom. We are researching ways to improve space/legroom
in our coach product by decreasing seat recline and/or replacing
headrests.

Not only did they take away your leg room, but they want to take away your ability to fully recline????

What a bunch of friggin morons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fully?!?! I just flew PHL-FRA on US700 last night in 8F and I suspect that the tops of the seats only moved back about the thickness of the seatback -- that is, about 4-5". Since there are IFE boxes under the seats in front of you, there would have been no place for my legs had D not also been empty.

More importantly, the answer from US makes it clear that they do NOT want to offer better service, just lower priced service so that they can fill the planes.

Reinforcement of my decision to leave US. Sad sad sad. I guess Doug has forgotten how uncomfortable he was on his A330 flight. How dumb do they think the flying public is? Yes, the Kettles may have flown US this summer, but I'm sure the words "never again" may have been said more than a time or two. I've certainly heard it enough.

Someone I flew with suggested US cross stack passengers on pallets and band them in. Then they could throw goldfish crackers on the top of the pallet to feed 'em, the vibration of the aircraft would make them trickle down through the passengers. chipped ice on top to melt through for water. Boarding would be faster, and think of all the people they could carry!

My Gawd, that sounds like something out of the Holocaust. How inhumane, terrible, unconscionable and utterly profitable that would be. I'm sure Tempe's considering it.

This place is truly ATE UP!!!! What on earth will it take to get these people out of here or at least to make a good decision. The Nightmare continues............

  "REPLACING HEADRESTS"? Has anyone in Tempe seen a seat on the A330? They can't find Europe on a map, never mind. The headrests are part of the seats you babbling nitwits! I say we all have a cocktail party in the hanger watching Tempe try to remove the head rest from the seats and make more room. I feel bad for the East Maintenance guys.

The below came out via company mail. While I am looking forward to enhancements it begs the question. Tempe is advertising seats that will only be on what 11 a/c out of our fleet? 1/3 of the Internaional a/c. Huuuuuum

"Beginning this winter, the new and improved Envoy Class seat is being
installed on our B767 aircraft. To pique our customers interest in the new and
improved Envoy product (seats, IFE, meals, wine, etc.) sample cards are being
placed into all Economy seat pockets and will be placed on top of the Envoy
blanket in each Envoy Class seat by our aircraft appearance staff on each
Transatlantic flight out of CLT and PHL.

In addition, color flyers with pictures and all the information on the new
Envoy products, are posted in each crew base.

Be sure to familiarize yourself with this exciting addition to the Envoy
product."
