Another A330 reconfig?!

My question is do they really intend on doing these changes or is it more talk to try to placate us? I'm sure they will come up with some excuse why it doesn't get done by next summer. I guess the stars and planets are going to be out of alignment or maybe Paker and Kirby can somehow blame atc or the jetstream.
 
During our crew breifing last week we were told by a F/A supervisor that one row of coach seats will be removed from the A330 starting this fall. Since there are two coach cabins, I asked if this would be one row from each cabin or just one row in total? She had no answer for the question....go figure! Removal of a single row will only help seat pitch in one coach cabin. Each cabin is separated between rows 22 and 23 by four LAVs. They need to remove one row from each cabin in order to make a real difference. She did say they are putting new galleys in all of the ETOPS 757s and 767s. Also a new video system will be installed in the 767s. Apparently they are going to the same cart/meal system used on the A330.

This is bad news -- the rest of us can see this being a problem. The geniuses will remove the last row from coach in the last cabin and that's it. Then, when it debuts, Tempe will have to issue another public apology and pull the plane out of service for the third time to fix one of their mistakes. Aye, yai, yai...
 
Oops...I forgot one more thing she said. The lie-flat seats for Envoy on the 767s will be installed this fall as well.

That's been said, but there was confusion in Doug's recent letter to you all saying they would be installed "Next Year". When they announced them this past Spring they were to be installed at the end of this year, and the current issue of US Airways magazine has a picture of them saying they'll be installed this Winter.

As for the alleged removal of a coach row - aren't rows 8-11(?) already decent pitch since they replaced the Envoy seats that used to make up rows 6-7? What row does the Economy Minus begin because until the coach class hatchet job was done, the entire coach cabin was approx. 34", making it a bearable trip in Coach for any length of time.
 
I know lets take out that last row and put it in the front row.. There.. that cramped row in the back has much more room now.

I can just picture them down in Tempe... "TWO coach cabins? Huh? That must be a misprint. And what is with all of these lavs? Three or four should suffice for the whole plane."

Don't let them on the plane. If they saw the Economy galley they'd cream themselves at the thought of how many rows they could put there.

Let's see.

Just use the front galley for biz class and take out the mid cabin galley, two lavs, and two closets and you could add 24 more seats, making our 330 seat 314 cattle.


That galley could NEVER handle a business class service!!!!!

Just flew with a check pilot to ARN and he said we Are getting the 340 !! They already know which pilot's are going to be training on it.
