40% of AMTs in TULE all of Alliance outsourced....

They're gonna have to install escalators on the docks and stock Depends in the tool room because all they're gonna have left are geriatrics by the time this is over...

Are we at the 11th hour of the 29th day yet?

When we will get that retro check?

Will I recover that $16,000.00 plus dollars lost? Which now has been compounded by a pension freeze/termination, prefunding lost for everyone, and even grievances won, we have to file proof of claim in BK Court.

How many jobs are lost now?

Go back and watch that Vote No Video once again...

Was Chapter 11 Filing a Bluff?

That T/A is looking better all the time.

You are preaching to the choir... as one of the MANY new hires I never had the opportunity to vote on a T/A... I've had only a taste of AA and already my mouth is sour... its sad, it probably was a great place to be at one time but that time has passed...

Are you sure that is AA that has giving you a soured mouth? Perhaps it is their working together partner that has left an acrid taste.

You guys are screwed. I just read the link and saw the name Tom Roth. He has overseen the destruction of our profession from the early days.

Ask any UAL, USAIR, TWA, or NWA (me) union worker (who paid attention) who was around in the '80's and '90's and they will will remember this guy. He has a consistent failure rate. Look below at his brag sheet. He is probably not posting this resume any longer. I found it for you.

Here is his CV

If this guy is on your side you better run like hell.

I actually had the displeasure of seeing him in action in person. Ouch.

He did exceptionally well with the UAL eflop.

xUT can give you some good scoop on this guy.

The TWU doesn't hire the best money can buy. They never have!

The TWU hires someone from within the Democratic National Party of Socialist Agenda Cultist, they overpay them and the extra $$ makes it's way to finance campaigns.

What part of this does everyone not understand?

Wow! That goes back to around November of 1990 in Tulsa.... and they want to take the bottom 450 of whats left and pay them the OSM rate. ?

What a waste of skilled labor.

I am sure the union will figure a way to create jobs before this is over.

The hail mary is coming and will be recieved as a last minute hard negotiated agreement by the TWU and the company.

I always said voting no on the $2.55 Line Premium would result in a worse agreement.
But I will admit that this is even worse than I suspected.

I am angry, but just as much at my co-workers as the TWU and AA.

Picking a fight with AA while being represented by the most docile union in the industry, deserves the 2011 Dumbasses of the Year Award.

You guys are the one's that asked for a battle while the membership was ill prepared and the docile leadership was still in control.

Give it 6 more years Chuck, you will then be at parity with Line AMT Market Rates.
Not sure if they will be brought down to you or you up to them, but there will be parity.

Thousands of overhaul AMT's will be out of work, but you will have yours, just hang in there a little longer.

At least you saved half of the profession....Your Half maybe.
I hope you enjoy every penny of it.

During the failed TA, were the reasons for voting down the TA at TULE because the line mechs were getting $2.55 line premium and OH would have to work weekends?

Were those the major reasons or was it the pre funding?

Just a question that's all, nothing can be changed about the past.

Yes it is such a waste.. I only feel fortunate in that I know for certain I am gone.. I would hate to have invested 20 years and be worrying whether or not I'm gonna make it through.. its gotta be hard on a lot of those guys..

Dave, Dave, Dave ...... as much as you like to throw the sword at me and the line, the reason why we are in this mess is partly because we are reactionary not pro-active. While other airlines we shedding their overhaul no attention was given to the thought we were next. We should have been pro-active in trying protect those jobs to protect ours. Now we cry foul! For the record, starting 1998 going forward, several members including myself objected to AA letting some of our work go to south america and europe. We also pleaded with the international to get involved in the contracts of other airliines where they were looking to close bases and send work overseas. I was told "it was not out fight". I did not hear concern from the bases about those contracts. The feed back I got was that would not happen to our bases. How foolish to sit back and wait till it hits you and then blame someone else! For the record Dave, The TWU and the company are putting more and more contract 3rd party maintenance on the line working right next to us. What do you think is being planned for us in the future if we don't take it on now? so you are not alone in this struggle and I at least tried and got involoved trying to stop overhaul going overseas long before you posted anything about it. I don't disagree with your writings all the time but do yourself a favor, think before you type sometimes.
