AMFA Mechanics contract.08/ 2012

Why in the hell do we need a Senior Vice President of Labor Relations? Why did they bypass Ryan and go outside? Does anyone think this will change anything as far as contract negos go? Very curious about this at this time...

Will be interesting to see how it compares to UPS..Considering how the dispatchers got a windfall compared to UPS. If I was an AMT there I would vote NO if I didn't get the same consideration.

That's not always true

You might be right, from what I've seen so far SWA has the tendency to do everything ass backwards. But from my experience of a falling airline, the first to go is usually the back office fat and the heavy higher ups, then come the pilot and F/A groups, looking for furloughs and/or layoffs. Behind them comes customer services, slicing as much fat off of them as possible and still remain semi operational. Near the bottom comes the MX group, first with a realignment of stations, then with a package of some sort and finally furloughs and layoffs. The good thing about the SWA labor agreements, they are all pretty strong languaged to avoid this process, so the weaker of the contracts will take the first organized reaping. IMO, but let's hope it never gets to any of that because I really don't want to go through it again and I wouldn't wish that amount of stress on my worst enemy!!
