American Woos Unions, Seeking Cooperation (AP)

Pull your head out TWU and have a look around, quit running your yap for awhile and just listen. Step out of your box and take a look at the real world. My information comes from being out there in the world. I watch and listen to what people are saying and doing. Where was the media during this strike? You must admit that there was very little. Why? Because the public wasn't interested. Where was the public? Unloading from vehicles and taxis, right at the feet of the AMFA strikers without so much as a glance. "We" are the 88% of the blue collar Americans that could care less about any union. "We" are the ones that kept NWA flying while you guys hoped for the worst. "We" are the other workgroups in the industry that would not support this strike. "WE", TWU Informer, have spoken and that is why your Brothers are returning to work as SCABS.

Someones' home Meth lab is humming along nicely

Most airline workers I know are either preparing to leave this industry or have already left.

Just have to throw the "Exaggeration" flag here.

"Most" are preparing to leave or have already left?

I'm sure there are some, but "most"?? If it were really "most," then AMR wouldn't have a surplus of mechanics, would it?

Now back to critcizing the SCAB (PlayswithCods) who couldn't get hired on by the majors.

Preparing to leave doesn't mean GONE yet.

Just wait and see.

Well, if you look at the aviation schools that are closed or hurting severely, it looks grim. Nobody in their right mind is going to spend $20,000 large on a A@P, only to work midnights, weekends and holidays forever for $10hr to start.

Not one of my personal friends that were former NWA employees are going back into aviation, its just not worth it anymore to them. NWA has all of our undivided attention if this is whats its finally coming to. Its not easy to walk away, but if this trend keeps up, there won't be anybody left, except in El Salvador, China, and Mexico. A management dream come true.

One example;

"Nomore Aviation,
hey guys, I have been out of school for 4 years going from regional airline to another and now at 16$ an hour and never seeing my family on night shift and no hope in sight, I am moving home to get a new life. I am only 24 so starting over wont be that bad. I was wondering about anyone who has lost their job and started a new profession. any good bad experiences or advice on good jobs? What would you guys do in my situation?
Thanks TM for the space, dont mean to sound negitive, but please understand!

You are certainly welcome, and I certainly understand your decision to leave aircraft maintenance. - TM"

"This message is to "nomore aviation" who posted today the 28th regarding his desire to leave aviation at the ripe old age of 24.
I was an A&P at EAL up until we went on strike. After working at a local commuter in FLL (one scary operation)for almost 3 years, I too decided to get out of aviation.
Went back to school and learned Xray in 2 years at the age of 40. Been doing that since 1994 and now doing MRI's at a 5 physican orthopedic practice. If you can relate to patients who are in pain and tolerate a variety of patients, Xray is not a bad field. Current pay is in the 38k-45k range depending on where you live. MRI pays about 45k-60k.
I will always miss the airlines but at the age of 51 now I have to think about job security, and medical has that."

Really 'Cods? They who? Who will be better off?
Did you have another "scab lapse" in thought process?

You have be a scab for 3.3 months at NWA, your uneducated opinion means squat here.

"The more people that leave the industry, the better off they will be and the people that remain." WTF????

Playtheodds...How proud you must be to have secured a job on the back of unionists who have spent decades negotiating the pay and benefits you now enjoy as a SCAB. How proud you must be when you tell your children how you came to work for NWA. The full term strikers have put their careers on the line to try and stop the slaughter of hard and legally negotiated contractual aggrements. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all abbrogate our contracts by saying.."Fuel's up", "Money's tight", "Income's down". Somehow, I don't think my mortgage company or my utilities would be so "generous". And then you add in those who would so easily step on the backs of those that made the job "attractive"...hummmmmm

Onw thing that PlayTheOdds has obviously not yet learned.

In our lives on this earth, there is a motto known to have truth. The question is does one recognize the truth when faced with it.

The motto?

WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND

Hackman, The more people that leave the industry, the better off they will be and the people that remain. We also need more A&P schools to close, the more the better.

Well, it seems as if this coward continues to try and lower herself. It is attempts like this foolish post that shows the fear some individuals have of standing up for what is right and just.

Sure, let everyone lie down when an injustice appears. Let's all behave like this coward so that a proud profession can become extinct.

Do everyone a favor coward, don't attend the AMTA's free event at the San Diego Aerospace Museum on December 18th, 2005.

<_< Ken! What your doing to advance the recognition of the AMT is great and noble! But it is also a distraction!!! And we have at least two J.C.Tayler winners still working here at MCI! The emphasis should be on the fact that the industry is in crises!!!Here at aa especically! Get a hold of a copy of the TUL(TWU)"Crib Notes" dated Nov.22ed. and tell me that we're not being set up for more concessions!!????

It is obvious that Hackman cannot "Recognize" the "Truth" when faced with it.
WHAT HAS GONE AROUND IS COMING AROUND.
