The latest rumor on the IAM side is the company want to out source all GSE, caterers and the people who service the water on the aircraft. I’m curious how union members would not care if they did?
I thought the latest from the Association was they wanted to outsource everything with the exception of the loading and unloading of aircraft. That seems to be the message around here anyway...

There always is the possibility that from the last Company online proposal that was proposed to us our Negotiators asked for more financials than that offer so the Company backtracked and asked for more work? As only an example the SWA Mechanics voted no to their TA wanting more financials. Now that Company has gone back offering more financials but again wanting more of their work which wasn’t in the TA they voted on.

In your current contract Lavs and Water can already be outsourced if the Company chooses.

I have heard that systemwide Locals are now informing their Members that the Company wants more than they originally proposed?

Like I said. If we’re asking for more wages, retirement and lower medical than they offered I can absolutely believe that they have asked for more Scope. Only makes sense they would.

This was from the last update BTW.

NOTOK,
They want the ability to, or to have the discretionary right to outsource all work by virtue of expanding the “when and where so directed” language to include everything fleet related except for the loading and unloading of aircraft.
MTC and related are facing similar language as it pertains to heavy MTC, GSE, Facilities, etc.

LUS has that in our contract now

"That means most newly hired mechanics will start at $19 per hour."

Nice! Throw in some Gov't assistance and living in the Great Pacific Northwest may not be so bad.

The Local Government discontinued their Cheese Wheel program the minute the news was announced.
