THIS IS FOR YOU TIMMY GLASS!
nice pic. I always feel that informational picketing, even if its on a side street, is good for a union. I fully support it and good to see a few AA rampers. Members need to blow off steam.
Will it change the negotiations? No. But picketing is good especially if there are hot dogs or pizza.

The contract they are offering is better than the contract the TWU has now but quite concessionary to the IAM side. That robbed is the problem in a nutshell

That's completely correct. Speaking from the IAM side, drastically increased health care costs, the outsourcing of Catering, and the uncertainty of how our pensions will end up. Please remember that many of us on the LUS side already have a mish-mosh of retirement plans. Firstly the reduced PBGC, then the 401k with no company contribution since 2003, wrapping up with the Shakey IAMNPF.
On the LAA side, you already have the crappy health plan, which a surprsing amount of people are content with. You have cargo, and deicing, with neither the subject of outsourcing.
IMO, the company could make a few adjustments to remedy the situation. If you're willing to keep Cargo in the LAA hubs, give it to the LUS side to in exchange for catering. If you want everyone to be on the same health care plan, make some adjustments to the LAA plans by lowering the deductibles and the max out of pocket costs. BTW, both of these costs are nearly 4x of the LUS plan. I believe that these few items would move us close to a deal.

Well that's just tough shite for you and your side buddy. We're all one now, and nothing that anyone can do about it. I think that we can all agree that the wages of today, wouldn't have been possible for either side without the merger.

Are you nuts?? For TWU maintenance, the overhaul and mod outsourcing goes up to 50%!! I don't know what the current outsourcing cap is, but 50% and the addition of foreign stations with American Airlines employees will impact DWH and TULE in a devastating way. Since the IAM is at 50% currently, no changes there. For title 2 (GSE and building/plant maint) a lot of the stations currently staffed by AA folks possibly be backfilled by contractors as the AA folks leave the company, never to be staffed with AA employees ever.

Just curious. Does the union consider fleet taking over all aircraft moves outsourcing? Did they ever consider fleet taking deicing and pushbacks from mx outsourcing?

All that guy is focused on is Holliday’s and some overtime. He’s fairly clueless when it comes to understanding Scope and work rule language differences between all the Contracts and what the Company is hoping to strike off.

A little revisionist history?

AA was in bankruptcy, not US. Wall Street had zero confidence in Horton’s stand alone plan and expected it to fail. Oh by the way Doug and US bought and rescued you, even gave you better deal than AA offered.

Can we not decend into this nonsense yet again? Fighting amongst each other is the lifeblood that the Management Vampires look to suck on to thrive.

I haven’t heard any change in any Fleet President’s positions that you shouldn’t retain that work.

They’re supporting you keeping work that has historically transferred back and forth between the two groups.

Just asking if the TWU ever considered or still considers transfer of work to other TWU classifications outsourcing.

US doesn’t outsource any line, it’s backshops and 50% of billable hours of overhaul. And 2,200 job will effect CLT, PIT and PHX. And 480 line jobs will effect LUS.
It's funny how you use THE ASSOCIATION name but fail to mention the potential job loss at TUL. Is your only concern the LUS side?

I don’t know? When you find a person with the name TWU we can both go and ask him or her together.

Looked to me like the poster was just clarifying that what the Company is asking for would effect BOTH sides.
