Hey now. On most of the flights I work, the customers in F/C are finding the snack basket preferable to the "gourmet" snack mix (95% pretzels, with one almond, one sesame stick, and a couple of rice crackers) we used to offer. In fact just the other day, I was doing a full tray service in F/C, and after eating his lunch,a passenger asked me if I had any of the fig bars (strictly a snack basket offering).
Wish we could find a solution to such problems as...last week, I was doing a dinner service with ice cream for dessert. In keeping with the fact that we have 16 seats in F/C on an MD-80, I got 16 glass tumblers of ice cream. (Don't know why they didn't offer a few fruit and cheese plates. Those were always popular.) Problem: They provided me with 5 spoons for the passengers. Some had to eat their ice cream with a fork.
