The Wilson poll showed at least half of the pilots feel what's left of the retirement plan is sacrosanct. After reading the NC proposal of Aug 17, I am going to vote no. The DC plan was already going to take hits over the pay reduction, but then to slam it down another 10% is unacceptable.

The company "ultimatum" will certainly be much worse, so they might as well open the polls right now and I can get my NO vote over with.

My vote........YES____ NO__X__........I am ready for my unemployment check and my PBGC check. Just think thousands of PBGC checks in just a few months or weeks...with United right behind.....Pa and NC might be lost to Pres. Bush right here! I am ready and willing to accept something close to the AWA contract but NOT the company's latest trash.

Another NO vote here. I was fully willing to take pay and benefit cuts and increase our flying to accomodate additional utilization. That is NOT what the company wants. They simply want drastic cuts with virtually no change in utilization or cleanup of our operation. Otherwise, they wouldn't have balked at an increase in the minimum day rules that force the company to use us more per day.

"That's all folks" Goodbye UsAirways.

This just in from the polls.

With less than 1% of votes counted looks like US is losing by a 3 to 1 margin.

If the company does not move off their proposal to AFA dated Aug 18, I'm a huge NO vote.

USA320's threats are getting old. Whatever happens will he finally just give it up and be on his way with the MBA wife? Best of luck to almost everyone! Savy

Late today it was announced that ALPA and the company failed to reach a negotiated "Transformation Plan" agreement and negotiations have been terminated.

The ALPA Negotiating Committee (NC) believes the company was negotiating in "bad faith" and the company said the breakdown was because the NC was unable to get even close to the $295 million level.

Regardless, the cold, hard truth is the parties failed to strike a deal regardless of whom is to blame, which could have disappointing, if not tragic, consequences for 28,000 employees and their families.

Management has provided the union with their last, best offer and the MEC is going to meet early next to decide whether or not to send the agreement out to the pilots for membership ratification.

just heard from my neighbor that negotiations broke down between pilots and the company.
say goodbye to a once proud airline. :(

Oh, come on now, are you wrong?

You told everyone that their would be a TA this weekend.

Glad to see you keep up your track record.

So much for tomorrow's Big FLL announcement, after hearing this news about talks breaking down.

Sounds like the beginning of the end to me.

Good Luck to all, I wish it didn't have to be this way.

:(

I don't think the MEC would be exercising their due dilligence if they presented an agreement to the membership that they felt was negotiated in bad faith.

The turbulence report just went from severe to extreme. Good luck.
