ALPA MEC CODE-A-PHONE UPDATE - February 10, 2004
This is Jack Stephan with a US Airways MEC update for Tuesday, February 10th, with one new item.
The MEC held a special meeting conference call yesterday evening and passed a resolution accepting the grievance settlement reached last week between the Negotiating Committee and management on MEC grievances 03-08-04, Negotiation of EMB Pay Rates, and 03-12-10, Violation of LOA 84 and Health & Welfare Benefits for EMB Pilots. Both grievances are associated with the EMB division of US Airways. The settlement provisions include:
• EMB-170 to be paid at AMR Eagle 70-seat rate
• Health insurance provided immediately upon employment
• Immediate eligibility for matching 401(k) contributions
• Training pay and training accommodations
As a condition of the MEC’s acceptance of the settlement, management also agreed to defer any discussion of pay rates for the EMB-175 until such time as the Company orders that equipment.
The resolution and a MidAtlantic Grievance Settlement fact sheet containing the agreement provisions are available at usairwayspilots.org.
Negotiations resulting from MEC AI 04-06 (Company Request for Scope Clause Modifications Regarding Small Jets) should begin this week as soon as we receive a proposal from the company.
Please remember we have 1,879 pilots on furlough.
