I was at the "pink slip" meeting last night ………oh boy what fun that was……"thanks for the excellent job you all have done for us"..Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. When I asked the V.P.of maint. If piedmont was being phased out he could not even look at me….just great 15 years down the tubes..

Yesterday VP of MX Peter Barry, told long time MX employees at ORF that they will loose 3 of the 5 overnite A/C they currently have, cutting 27. 19 mechanics, 2, AV techs. 4, QC. ,2,lead mechanics. Also more MX cuts in Chicken-Town SBY, 3 mechs. in support shops, and 4 non-contract office employees, all effective 9-01...(labor day gift since they took it as a holiday). Leaving the aircraft out longer between MX visits....same old story when they say to cut costs, they cut maintenance. What about the saftey factor Mr. Barry? How many times has your airline been spanked by the FAA on MX screw-ups?? aka...trying to do to much on a over-nite aircraft with out enough mechanics...and pushing them at the MX bases to get the planes out of the hanger?? Do you really think these cuts are going to benfit PDT? Or just save your hide and others in SBY from the Airways chopping block a little longer? I guess Bruce Ashby yanked you by the short-hairs,and or gave you a verbal promise of a postion with Airways or Mid-Atlantic,after they use and bleed-off PDT, when he had the meeting in SBY. You will be kicked to the curb by Airways when they get the regional jets in place, then maybe you will wonder how you will pay for your health care ,house note, food, clothes for your kids, ect..its coming sir.

Leadmech8, thats the usual look of Mr. Barry..he knows whats coming, but he can't hold his head up and face you and the your co-workers like a man, cause he has the back bone of a "Jelly-Fish".Yeah, Steve Kerrfoot; DOM, likes the 50mm parts cannon, I've heard him trouble - shoot problems on the phone and demand that this will be changed ect,...never mind what the techs on the line at the aircraft think, lets shoot another $50,000.00 fuel control at it; when it was only a bleed air leak. The Kerrfoot, "Postive Maintenance Action"/ "Follow-up" in Merlin. That why he makes the big bucks.

anywhere in the PDT system. By the way what about John "In Crystal City" Leonard. I bet he"s keeping a lower than usual profile.

N786P why do you harbor such hatred for Piemont? It seems to me that both ALG and PDT are being thrown to the wolves. I figure about 70 maintenance people are on the streets between ALG and PDT don't you? The point I have tried to make to you in the past is that we are in this together and won't get anywhere fighting amongst outselves. DON'T YOU AGREE?????

PDT and ALG both have been told to cut $$ from their operations. Seems that the bean counters miscalculated when everyone took concessions and made cuts last time. ALG is closing their BGM maintenance base as of 9/1, even if those techs bump to other bases there will still be plenty of unemployed. And with the return of aircraft on lease from both PDT and ALG the trend will only continue. The boys in CCY should be ashamed of themselves, the only consistent profit making divisions allowed to wither away.

dash8dr...others along with myself are getting worn out with the "Take one" for the "Home-Team", attitude of PDT's "mis - management" team. The letters and meetings with management on how we need to "step-up to the plate" and "take a hit" on pay, holidays, benfit reductions..ect; so "We can be more able to stand up to the contract carriers cost structures so we can get regional jets"... what a crock of BULL!! This company has closed 2 MX stations...(soon to be 3 With ORF), laid off countless employees in other departments also, after pay cuts and other was given to the company...( a small company with long time dedicated employees) It just goes on and on "we want you the employyee on the front lines" to work harder for less...and less...never mind if you don't have a job next month..wake up snap out of it!! If this is what we as employees have to look forward to, they just need to "screw the pooch" and close the doors.

GAME OVER.
