Airline Offers To Trim Bonuses

2. There are job offers for them right now out on the street, many with better pay or bennies. Their attitude is one of, "If my job is done December, then why should I stay here and lose out on better job offers, instead of jumping ship now". Oh, it's the promise of a retainer that keeps me here. Ok.

Simply do to them what management has done to it's unionized employees....unilaterally change either a signed and sealed contract item or renig on past practice and threaten them with loss of future travel or medical benefits if they don't give, say 6 months, notice (at least that's what they have done to the pilot group.)

By the way, your rude reference to someone ELSE commenting on one of our fine union leaders is about as cowardly as it gets. You win the jerk of the month award for that tidbit. Greeter.
 
That would be a great idea, Greeter. Problem is, being a pilot is a whole different animal from being a suit. Suits get job offers easily because of the generic nature of the job. Someone who walk away from a pencil job is usually doing it to take advantage of a better offer from another employer. Threats from the high ups against white collar guys just don't carry as much weight. Joe pencil can get another job in lickety split. It won't be as fast for Joe pilot(or f/a, or mech, or any other specialized position).

Wow, and I thought I was only going to win an award for the day here! "Jerk of the month club"....I am very honored to receive that from a walmart greeter!

No one at CCY is indispensable, the track record of this airlines speaks volumes about the horrible job CCY has done running this company.

So what do you do if, for example, everyone in the payroll dept. leaves because they found better jobs elsewhere? No one gets paid. Does anyone know how to do payroll?
 
That is a chance the company has to take and ADP does payroll for thousands of companies, they could handle it.

Have Jerry, Everett and John go do payroll.

They can be outsourced just like the rank and file employees have been.

ADP doesn't DO the payroll. Someone at the company has to DO it and send it to ADP. They have to know how to DO it. And they have to know all the various state laws and regulations regarding it. ADP just processes the checks and prints the reports. Someone at the company has to verify that the information is correct. They have to know how to DO that.

Are you asking me if I could do their jobs? I could do better than our senior management. I could do the Inflight jobs, Labor Relations job, and Chris Chiames dumb position.. PR is talent and skill working with the public. Labor RElations, is relating to labor and creating fairness and balance. Inflight Service Dpet is serving the employees.

Our AFA benefits aprovided ALL INFORMATION for the retirees future and past who lost their pensions and needed info on PBGC, HCTC, qulifying plans, COBRA. This company provided very little. And we have just finished a book from our AFA expert benefits dept.

Yes, Charlie Brown. Not hard to do a managment job when most are inept to begin with. Its only up from there.

Hey Bob, your quicker than lightening, and mind is a sharp as a blade. Thanks for supporting us and knowing intimately that bonsuses should be tied to performance tagets, not betowed because of a "title".
 
Jerry can handle it all so can Hedbloom, that is why they make the big bucks.

I know what ADP does and does not do. I am not in aviation--my DH is. I am in HR. They don't DO the payroll.

Do you think that these payroll folks and accountants are the only ones in the nation that can keep books or track payroll???? Where do you live in the core of the planet? You need some sunshine and come into the light....

I'll drop out now. You don't have clue about the real business world in which the rest of us (and I am a paying customer for business--at a CP level) live. You think payroll and accounting are mindless; so mindless that anyone can do them without training? I would not insult your profession that way. I have lived through mergers and have seen the need to offer retention incentives in order to keep things flowing. Otherwise everyone would leave and the shop would shut down. I don't post a lot and won't from now on because some of you just don't want to have a meaningful dialogue.
