Aircraft maint issues

I think the IAM should help our TWU brothers and sisters. I've know Doug a long time and he could careless about members below the wing. He gave us money,so he saved face! I think the negotiations are a joke! My union negotiator comes back and tells us nothing (IAM) I was all for dumping the IAM. The Pittsburgh guys screwed us. Just like Tulsa screws Dallas, JFK, Chicago and Miami. If they were truly serious in getting us a contract we would have one. Gave away our biggest bargaining chip. Working on each other's metal! I've been in unions for 35 years and they are just big business!

That may be the case with the IAM over there, but i wouldnt classify all unions in the same group.

Also if the majority didnt like the IAM, they would have went IBT. But then again, that takes having some balls. I mean that as a group, because im sure you have some people over there willing to do what it takes.

I know its a lot easier for some to blame the union for all of their problems, they should look in the mirror.

And as far as what Doug wants to give you is irrelivant, make him give it to you!

Yup just like I said, where is the IAM on this one? The news story at the end even stated it's the AA TWU mechanics picketing. No word or comment from the IAM side. This is what the unions want. Division in the ranks. The Association is quiet on this one and is not pushing the IAM to picket with the rest of us. We look like ________. You can fill in the blank.
Pathetic, totally frigging pathetic.

Things with the TWU aren't all that great at SWA. Maybe the common denominator here is the TWU.

This is not the same company from years back with Herby. This new regime is always fire first and let em work their way back in. so sad folks.

I believe its a SWA thing, that airline is nothing like it was before. I feel sorry for anyone that left another airline to go there.
Bingo. You got it correct. Not the same airline when Herb and Colleen was here, that's a fact!!!

Even in this video he states that no support from the IAM for this up coming info picketing. Very, very bad.

You noticed too, uh?
The TWU has not put out any info on why the Association and/or the IAM is not taking part in the picketing.

We TWU guys and any pissed off IAM guys need to seriously think about dumping this useless Association.

I know that the majority of us LAA people say wait until we get a contract to start a card drive. I really wonder how many here in Tulsa would sign a card drive after seeing that news story.

The answer to that question would be to see how many in Tulsa will show up on the picket line and even take the trip down to DFW to picket as well.

Actually 1AA, I noticed this right off the bat. Now others are starting to take notice, even members of the negotiating committee are starting to notice. Trust me that the company already has noticed too. If the IAM does not show up in full support, starting with memos and letters put out to the medias showing and giving the support, it will just end up a win, win for the company, and they are loving it. When you have this division of the 2 unions at a monumental point of unity to be shown, how do you really feel the future nego's will go? Once again this asso. is just proving everything I have said that would never get settled directly tied to the 2 different unions. The back and forth, the division of 2 control freaks in charge at different times, the no support from "the other side". Sad to watch brother. I can only assume you guys are now hearing some rumblings that they now wish they signed a card. is that true? Good luck man.

BTW; I have heard of some support coming from the AMFA 11 in Dallas, I just do not know how many. Now how does that make the asso. look? The IAM is showing "0" support yet AMFA National and AMFA 11 has responded and will be showing support for the TWU informational picketing. That's great that AMFA agreed to show support for the TWU at AA. It's about time these two unions can put the past behind them. Pretty pathetic that AMFA has responded and will show support before the IAM has who is the other half of this asso. That will not look good on picketing day with all the media there.

IT's completely different now from when you were here. They use Jetnet to push all this propaganda and give the rest of the airline the impression that everyone is very happy. The meal on AMT Day was a prime example. They had planned on loading Jetnet up with pictures of AMTs happily eating the meals. If we give them those opportunities they will use them against us. Yes I will reject everything they offer until they do what they promised and give us our ILC.

Propaganda at the base is nothing new. Both the company and the UNION were spewing propaganda when I left that place. It was one of the things I could not stand about TULE.

I don't see the difference. They were spewing propaganda then and they are spewing it now. Nothing has changed. It may have a new format but it's the same old BS.

Instead of worrying about who will or not picket, why not put the pressure to see the Bullet Points of what was put on the table?
Same old method during negotiations, the membership has no idea what the actual issue is.

swamt- maybe u can give the association advice on how amfa does negotiations. Yours is working out real good with the game plan of Sehams advice. Show them your wisdom and current game plan. If you don't get your skull split open with a picket sign I would be amazed. Maybe you and hack boy can hold hands together in solidarity!!!

At least they have one union representing one Class and Craft group of union members. We on the other hand have two unions representing about 15 different groups of members with various skill levels and totally different job descriptions and responsibilities.

So what are the two union response to merge the group, and which one will be the surviving union, are you guys going to vote on that! That sounds like it will be a long process. I am sure there are people there, that want to go with AMFA, but wouldn't that create a court case or not, or would the majority rule on an election?
