Since the AMT topic on negotiations was closed I decided to post this here.
Our negotiators better think about what they are going to do for us with the 401K if the government gets their way. A straight up contribution is the best way if we lose the individual tax break. If we pull back or stop the contribution then the company match might be sacrificed. Cost savings for the company and a financial loss for the individual towards retirement. Don't even think about the IAMPF. No guarantee it will be there for you or stay solvent long enough by the time you reach retirement. It the government gets their way we are so screwed.

The money has to come from somewhere, most likely your paycheck.
