Since the AMT topic on negotiations was closed I decided to post this here.
Our negotiators better think about what they are going to do for us with the 401K if the government gets their way. A straight up contribution is the best way if we lose the individual tax break. If we pull back or stop the contribution then the company match might be sacrificed. Cost savings for the company and a financial loss for the individual towards retirement. Don't even think about the IAMPF. No guarantee it will be there for you or stay solvent long enough by the time you reach retirement. It the government gets their way we are so screwed.

Our company match, which is now 0%, was used to fund the lucrative IAMNPF.

The money has to come from somewhere, most likely your paycheck.

Think about it.
 
Here's reminder of what was agreed to...Sounds like we are going to get this IAMNPF shoved down our throats one way or another...Methinks we would lose the 401k match in exchange....
They need TWU participation to save the plan.

Why would you think we have to lose a 401k match of some type when UAL Fleet has both and Delta, UAL and SWA have better retirement plans at ALL Airlines for both Fleet and Maintenance.

Currently the Worlds Largest Airline, American Airlines is underwhelming in their Retirement offerings to their employees. Not to mention of course their Profit Sharing formula.

But give me back the 7% above line and I'd be willing to stay sub par in those other areas.

well i give up on fleet taking any action, on being forced into it. Now you guys on the other hand, i still have hope you will fight any forced entry and here's how.

There's little thing called due diligence, before anyone can do even twu, since its your money, is put you into something that's not viable. Force Petersen, to tell you what the expense ratio of the fund is. find out the muti-employer plans and how they have fared. Find out if there have been cuts, and if that's why they are now safe, but still in trouble. You guys don't have to accept this. Fight!

Also, find out if Lombardo's bus plan is endanged, he will have to recuse himself on this topic if it is.

Make sure there is recourse if you guys are put into the plan, and it fails over the next few years.
 
and when they show actuarial tables, tell them shove it up there ass, because they are laughing at you, because actuarial tables are for how many of your brothers won't be around to collect.

WeAAs, then why would the ASSociation be pushing the TWU's participation into the IAMNPF?
To save it? Why would the company agree to it if there were no cost savings to them?
I'm sorry, WeAAs, but too many years of BOHICA for me to trust the TWU......

Don't forget, this is the same ASSociation who said we would vote on the ASSociation.
 
As the TWU and their apologists continue to say being forced into the IAMNPF can't happen or won't happen or may not happen. I say it can and will happen if we don't stop it. Do you seriously think we won't be forced into it with fleet? They love it and think it's a great thing. They need money in it because there are more people drawing from it than putting in so their fix is to get more people in it. That means us. If you think you'll have a choice to get in or not then remember the choice you had for the association. NONE. Haven't we lost enough of our retirement?
 
To be clear I don't care if fleet wants into the IAMNPF but they will try to force us to get in too and they OWN the ATD.
 
Pilots, Flight Attendants getting another raise. Parker just announced.8% and 4%
TWU/IAM will have to suck it up until a deal is reach in no-go-tiations.
 
I can't believe Doug giving out more pay raises to the flight crews! The IAM-TWU need to let the mediator know this is not acceptable and light a fire under the companies ass!!!!
