Aircraft maint issues

I agree W, I still have an issue with AA willing to meet any time any where and our Association not up to the challenge. You know as well as I do there are some underlying reasons we won't get into.
Sounds like us over here at SWA!

Deicing outsourced, some facilities maintenance, and back shops gone. LUS moving to LAA medical
Not to mention the co. stayed with the "reduced" economic offer of Delta plus 3% instead of the Delta plus 7% originally promised, and let's not forget the 4% the TWU members are still left without.
I do kinda like the 401K offer. If I understand it correctly you can get a total of 15% into the 401K with the 3% co. contribution, a 6% employee contribution with another 6% co. match. With only a 6% contribution by employee, you get an added 9% in total by the co. Not industry best, but it might be best of UAL and Delta. But with no PS (that I saw) Delta could be better when in very profitable times. Not sure how bad the outsourcing will get with this offer, but some are saying a loss of jobs would come, is that true? Hope not. One last question, do I read this right that the co. is not willing to move as they stated right off that this is not your typical offer from the past of low-balling and trying to work to a middle. To me is sounds as if this is it take it or leave it (although they have not said that in this letter.)

No reply until October or later. The TWU convention needs to be taken care of. Why wait until after the convention? Maybe some changes will be made that will affect the negotiations. The association did not want the membership to see the company’s last proposal. I took the unions position for face value and believe the company wanted to throw it out there to see what reaction the membership would have. After two pickets by the TWU not the Association or IAM and media coverage the company countered by posting the proposal highlights (my opinion). This was done to see the reaction from union members. I say union because I hope the IAM will wake up and start working together with the TWU to reach a common goal.
I have said before that with the slow pace of negotiations I wonder if the association is really serious about getting a jcba done. There will be layoffs or some kind of lose of jobs. That's less union dues. So maybe it's financially beneficial for the association to let this drag on up to and possibly past both amendable dates of the current CBA's of the TWU and IAM.
I guess we will have to see what happens after the TWU convention. I'm sure the IAM knows they might have to give up some form of compensation and almost guarantee a big increase in their medical expenses when a jcba is passed. Another reason they are in no rush to get a jcba done.

What is deltas current top out anyone know?

Also I do not understand why the union is waiting until after the convention, when Gary P was here at LAX couple weeks ago he said they were waiting on a better proposal from the company, now I read this? Someone's lying to us

It shows how far apart we are. The TWU and IAM are not really working as one. The company blames the association and the association blames the company.
Negotiations 101. Get used to it.

My info has Delta at $48.61/hr. Base +license pay.

The TWU needs to put out a counter now to this information to fill in the blanks a little more on future outsourcing language.

There are no more impediments to providing all the information since the Company was the first to decide to bring out its Queen (Chess)

I think most members agree with you W, but I'm not sure they will listen.

Not bitter, the company just put blame back on the union and very tactfully,
maybe you are just to naïve to understand.

They moved out their Queen and you haven't even given any time for the opponent to chose if it's time for "our" Queen to make her move?

They say they are? Doug Parker said they aren't.

"2 weeks per month is enough"

The saying is correct "you can't fix stupid'. That was the companies first move, I believe the first move is with a pawn.

In an internal communication to TWU-IAM Association members at American Airlines, Kerry Philipovitch and David Seymour—American executives who have not attended one negotiating session—claim the Association is dragging its feet in responding to American’s “comprehensive” proposal. FALSE! Association executive level negotiators told American negotiators that their comprehensive proposal belongs in the garbage. It is an insult to the membership and doesn’t deserve any further response.

Accurate information is important. The company’s “comprehensive” proposal does the following:

Outsources work and eliminates jobs
Maintains legacy American’s high cost health care
Includes insulting wage rates that are not industry-leading
Eliminates pensions and shifts risk to workers

Their “comprehensive” proposal was also riddled with basic mistakes including significant errors in wage scales and retirement language. The negotiators that sold Manhattan to the Dutch for $24 were better prepared.

We invite these ghost negotiators, Kerry and David, to show up at our next negotiating session so we can give them the personal response they deserve.
And American’s entire negotiating team is welcome to attend one of the collective bargaining training sessions at the IAM’s Winpisinger Center. Maybe then they will develop the skill set required to bargain a fair contract that Association members deserve.

The “comprehensive” proposal is akin to a bribe and a bad one at that. Association represented workers will not be fooled. American Airlines is the most profitable carrier in the industry and American Airlines’ Association workers deserve a truly industry-leading contract.

Fraternally,

On behalf of the TWU-IAM Association,

Sito Pantoja

If you notice, it says better then what we currently have, as far as holidays, well anything is better then what we certainly have, same with shift diff. we get .01 cent now, not to hard to beat that. What kind of pay raises every year? is it .5% for 6 years then a 2% raise for a year, then we entered negotiations for what will drag on for 5 years? This info is almost useless and insulting. IMO
