Anyone know why aircraft 206 PHLCUN diverted to CLT this morning? They recrewed the flight substituting the 75E for a 320 and I was thinking I was going to get quick called for the trip. Just curious!

I know it's a funny joke, but word has it that they're strong arming the pilots on the issue on all flights...suppose they were to run short on the way to Cancun...a pilot would definitely not want to stop in Havana for fuel, which is pretty much the only stop once you're past Miami, save for Grand Cayman or Jamaica, and those would be a little bit out of the way, now wouldn't they?

I'm sure it's got a good explanation, but if it's fuel...I wouldn't be shocked from what I'm hearing from the pilots.

What evidence do you have that this is occuring to the pilot group?

Um, the numerous reports and outcry from the Union about the airline starving the pilots for fuel and putting them into recurrent training if they ask for more fuel...there are a lot of other threads on this, but this one made USA Today, among other national news agencies. Do a google search.

Come on out from under that rock for some fresh air.

Keep on topic folks--which is what happened to the CUN flight. Leave the other issues out of this thread please.

Nuff said.

Thank you

It was a maintenance issue. I saw it in the RGOM log, but do not know what the exact issue was because I havent seen the abbreviations listed and couldnt decipher.

I know what happened. You see, in CUN, all the passengers were very upset that they had to check all their bags and pay actual dollars to do that, so they collectively got together (what a smart group this time) and they pooled all their tears into a bucket to show the agents how much they were against this new fee, but then the agents were like "No English" and they shrugged, so instead the passengers decided that they would bring the tears onboard and drink them as opposed to paying for water. Well, that was fine but the salt made them all SO thirsty that they ended up ALL buying sodas, and the lead flight attendant was so shocked that there was a higher demand for sodas than was available, that she had a heart attack and the flight unfortunately had to divert. She did wake back up, however, when she found out that the Captain had just saved 15% on his insurance by switching to Geico.

Every cloud has its silver lining.

The end.
