LOL my father ask's that all the time. Its a wonder. Some people have no where to store it and throw it out after the storm. Some just dont bother to try to keep it. Its the same at the grocery store. You would think people are storing up for years not a few days.

This morning the plan was to try and start MIA back up around 12:30pm EDT tomorrow (Saturday). Well, Frances isn't cooperating (movement has slowed more that what was forecast) so more cancellations have been made with a very limited start up planned (for now) around 6-7pm Saturday. The current forcast calls for pretty strong (tropical storm force) winds thru 4pm EDT.

This is the latest photo of Hurricane Frances on Saturday, September 4, 2004, as of 8:15am EDT. If you look to the right of the photo, you can see the leading edge of the next hurricane headed for the US. I hope all of you who live in Florida remain safe.

This storm will still be here in the AM. MIA is officially closed. Remember, during official hurricane warnings, you may be turned around by any emergency personnel if you are on the road, especially if you pass through a community where curfews are in place on your way to work. If you are forced to go to work on Sunday, or told you won't be paid if you don't show up, call: 1-800-321-6742 (OSHA). Be sure to get the name of the individual who calls you, or whom you speak to as if you turn them in they will want the info (time/date/names). Remember, you can't be fired for refusing to go to work in this storm.

AA does not come first, take care of yourself first and BE SAFE!

Just back from dropping some people off at work on the beach. Miami is holding up pretty well. The Miami buses are running on there weekend schedule. If you need gas on the beach chevron up near 73 is open and has gas. The Chinese restaurant on 79th and Biscayne open for business. I was amazed to see so many people on the roads.

A few tree branches here and there. The rain has been minimal in Dade County, we are still having the wind squalls though. I hope the people father north are holding up and that the weakened storm has given everyone a reprieve.

Next up is Ivan who is south east of Puerto Rico on a similar track as Frances.

Miami International Airport is re-opening at 8 a.m. Sunday and limited flights will be allowed to land:

Continental Flight 338 from Newark will arrive at 10 a.m.

LAN Flight 582 from Cancun, Mexico will arrive at 10:05 a.m.

Northwest Flight 1974 will arrive from Detroit at 11:35 a.m.

The airport had officially closed shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday .

I live in MIA for 13 years. I so do not miss that place one bit. Giv me a good ol' tornado any time. Good luck over there.

It seems like things at MIA are getting better. Tonight seemed to go somewhat smooth.

Thanks to all that came back to work either yesterday or today.

Looks like Ivan wants to stay south. The current forecast keeps the eye south of Hispanola. Lets hope it stays that way.
