Aa's Plans For Florida

As Frances approaches Florida. Most State and Federal offices, public and private schools will be closed. Mass transit is being suspended. Does have any info on any changes to the airlines flights beginning tomorrow?

Conference call at 8 or 9am central time Thursday.

My best guess would be to operate the early departures Friday morning and then shut it down, but hey, that's just me.

Could be earlier if crews keep calling off.

Since AA doesn't care about its employees, they probably would fly right through the eye of the storm if they had their way! It's all about the $$$ sign for AMR management.

AA has been great when things like this happen. After andrew, but they were flying suplies for employees here. They have done alot for our employees in other stations hit by storms like this as well. They are not going to risk an employe or plane.. Its a matter of what time things lock up in anticapation of the outer band winds hitting here, if they do.

Hey Mike

Have you heard anything else down there in Miami? Looks like ol' Frances is making a bee-line for South Florida right now but I do remember how prepared AA was in 92 with Andrew. Res shows a few notations about Frances but nothing officially cancelled yet. I start Reserve tomorrow so I know I'll be all over the place most likely!! Take care to everyone down there over the next few days...

IMA open time has at least 30 positions open for today. This is your chance! Seriously it would help AA, the pax's and fellow fa's. They need any int'l qual f/a's to p/u trips. We don't even have minimum on a few flights. And it is safe for most of the flights as you aren't even scheduled to return until after Frances is projected to have swept thru.

Haven't heard anything from the company. Need to check my schedule and see whats going on. I am sure AA is in the process of making sure all the planes will be gone by this evening. Heard FLL will be closing tonight.

I am almost done getting the house secured. The shutters up and the patio stuff inside. The potted plants are tippped and ready. I think Miami is going to get some strong winds. The eye is heading near Vero Beach. Better to be ready just in case. Andrew was headed towards Miami Beach and then dropped and hit homestead.
