It's not a TA. Nobody on the Committee agreed to this. Little stated we would get to vote on the Last Best Offer. Now you have the right to exercise your vote. You want a democracy in your union, you get it, and now you are pissed.
Every person at AA has some form or another of compassion for those that are about lose their jobs.
It is not the Union's responsibility to hire, fire, or dictate headcount. But they will be leaving, not because you failed to give enough this time, they are leaving because your last concession for jobs program FAILED them. And now you want to repeat the exact same mistake cloaked in a different form of threat!
You have been led into a trap to believe otherwise by AA Management, and they are using that belief to manipulate and control you. All the while you voluntarily believe that you are doing what is right by giving in again.
The fact still remains, that right here at American Airlines and at the Tulsa Maintenance Base, this concessions for jobs idea has been tried and failed on more than one occasion. They get you to bend on every work rule, and allow many contractual language statements that leave the future to be determined "at their discretion" and you do nothing but screw us all and in the end out of the same jobs you claim to save because those jobs are all actually lost in the long run anyway. Meanwhile, you ignore this history at AA and instead find specific issues at other carriers to propagate your ignorance and stupidity while your own history right here at AA is all you need to learn from.
Name one single company that is thriving in any industry, that keeps more heads on the payroll than is needed to produce and then has a union that refuses to allow accountability of production quotas, safety standards, and attendance compliance? Combine that with weak and inept management that allows you the union fool leader to keep running the company and you have a recipe for the destruction of an entire workforce and profession.
You and the other stooges that have egoic minds that are useless and clueless actually believe you can step in and do what management cannot do. You claim to be saving jobs with this bullcrap you are advancing, when in fact you doing nothing more than causing the destruction of all of us.
We keep being asked to fall on the sword on a regular basis to save jobs, when in fact we are doing nothing more than slowly bleeding to death from the wounds of the sword.
Pull your F'ing head out and quit living a false fantasy and lead this union membership into a real cultural change that will secure all of our futures instead of destroying a once great profession. Go negotiate increased pay and benefis along with accountability procedures, cut whatever heads are not needed, and then demand changes in management to embrace and enforce this idea and then, and only then will see you real jobs being saved.
After the loss of the defined pension, we are last in the industry in "all-in" compensation because our holidays, vacation, medical plan, and pay leave us last in the industry. And what do you and James C Little do? Advocate through FEAR that we accept another reduction and set a new LOW in the industry and reduce that "all-in" compensation even further,
TWU signs up with the Pilots and Flight Attendants to take a stand against corporate greed, James C Little is seen on a video screaming the Bankruptcy Court is a crime scene and that yellow tape should surround the building and AA Headquarters, then in less than a week, he is on another video using fear to scare his membership into accepting another stick of the sword to save jobs.
