A&e's New Series Airline

Last nights episode had to be the lamest yet. They only showed Ops for about 2 seconds, and the rest of the program dealt with cutting in line by racists.

A&E must be scrambling for some decent footage.

I haven't watched an eposide in a while and saw last nights.....

What's up with Yolanda..... Does she "Get Off" Denying Boarding of any Passenger that smells of Alcohol ??? God, That POOR OLD MAN !!!!

I did feel sorry for those Guys that were looking for Eminem though....Question is where they actually Flying somewhere??
Didn't seem like it SO, How did they get into the Airport ...Seems they were up near the Gates !!!!!!!

I say good for Yo! Keep the drunks off--I don't want to sit next to some reeking boozer. Didn't feel one bit sorry for the old wino.

Too bad no one explained to those starry-eyed youths that in all probability Mr. Mathers would NOT be flying WN tfrom LAX to MDW. If not on a chartered jet he would certainly have been cocooned up in F on AA or UA... <_<

Yeah Right....Like YOU never had a Drink before OR During a Flight....

Give me a BREAK !!!

KC, I thought we'd beaten the "who flies into thunderstorms" topic beat to death months ago....
No, I think it was just your uninformed assertions that were beaten to death. How did the AMA thing turn out, anyway? I know, do you? I do give you a virtual 'high five' for your tenacity, even if somewhat misguidTed.

Is it really that easy to get manifest information on pasangers like the GA that was looking up for the groupies?

I think Yolanda did the right thing. The little old guy was clearly unsteady on his feet. Was it from drinking or just old age? Yolanda did get the Captain's opinion and she was right to do so. The man had taken a tumble in the boarding area. He probably needed a wheelchair and was too embarrassed to use one. My own Papi Certe was the same way. Believe me, I have a soft spot in my heart for little old guys but would have done exactly the same thing. I would have worried he may have gotten worse inflight and required more care than is available at 30,000 feet.

As for the celebrity seekers, I thought it was illegal to give out information on who's flying. That sort of shocked me.

I got a kick out of the lady who couldn't identify her own bags. The young man in Baggage Service was great. The stuff we see....best to keep a sense of humor about it all!

I saw the last show too, and what really bothered me, was the 3 boys looking for Eminem. That had to have been totally staged. They were not flying anyhwere, just looking for their HERO???. There is no way they would have been allowed inside security for something like that. They were walking all over the place. Definately a Security Breach. SW is certaily scraping the barrel for film footage. I know one thing I have learned. I will never fly Southwest if this show is any indication of how they treat the public. I don't care how successful they are. Only one word comes to mind in every area I have seen about this show. CHEAP.

I used to say I'd never fly Southwest...until I HAD to fly them. Heard all kinds of horror stories about "cattle car" seating and no assigned seats. But I was very plesantly surprised when I flew them. They then became my "first choice" airline. I am treated well from all their contact people - some going "above and beyond" in their service. If you avoid them based on a television show, well...it's your loss I suppose.

FWIW - SWA isn't "scraping the bottom of the barrel" - that would be A&E...the network that is producing the show.

I fly on SWA fairly often, full fare and non-rev I might add, and always get treated very well. Just from watching the show I think the employees do a very good job with some pretty tricky situations. Remember "Stinky Guy"? I thought that was handled very diplomatically. And what about the Customer of Size in a previous episode? Nicely done as well.

kt, I don't know what you find offensive. SWA customers aren't much different from any other airline these days. The employees do a stellar job all the way around. I'll admit the boarding process is a bit of a mob scene at times but the CSA's manage to get those flights out on time.

The traveling public is a lot more casually dressed these days. And I think a few have read too many articles on "How to Get Your Way By Throwing a Fit in Public." All airlines have rewarded bad behavior too often in the past, in my opinion.

How the celebrity seekers got through Security without a boarding pass or gate pass is a good question. But that's a TSA area, not SWA's.

Full fare AND NON- REV !!! Interesting.....

As for the guy Denied Boarding....Okay...When you turn 73 years old how would you like to be Denied Boarding AND have to Pay for a Hotel Room (On SS Income more than likelyl; he was Flying SW) I still feel sorry for him...he probably would have been fine on board..Flight Attendants should have been given the Call !!!

As for the Celebrity Seekers...They ususally have their Ids checked by an Airline Employee Before they Reach the TSA Line !!!! I agree with KT on this one !!!!

Why is it interesting that I non - rev? I will buy a ticket when I absolutely have to travel and cannot afford to roll the dice on getting a seat.

And I do have a lot of empathy for the man. I wonder where his family is and why someone didn't see to it that he made his flight OK. I would have never let Papi Certe sit alone in an airport. He might have made a fuss about my attentions but I know he loved it.

And what would have happened if at attitude he had a stroke? Given that he'd had few glasses of wine, at his age that's not out of the realm of possibility. What other medication might he have been on? I was worried for him!

It would have been nice if the airline picked up his tab for the hotel and transportation. I don't know what the airline's usual policy is for that type of situation.

Does anyone know what happened to him? Did he make the flight the next day? Who was picking him up on the other end?

Great. Now I have something else to worry about all night!

Colby, many years ago I got conned into taking an intoxicated man onto a flight. It was the last flight of the night, his wife insisted she would take care of him and that he wouldn't be a bother, that he had to be at work in the morning and that he wouldn't drink inflight. Well, right at wheels up, his call bell goes off. Of course, I figured he was getting sick and rushed to see about it. Turns out he wanted a cocktail. Threw a fit deluxe. I looked to his wife for help and she just shrugged her shoulders and said she couldn't control him. He ranted and raved and foamed at the mouth for the entire hour. I learned my lesson the hard way. I hope you never have to experience that. It wasn't fair to the other customers who had to put up with hearing it or to the other FA's who were distracted from their inflight service. I wouldn't let it happen again. And I'm sure you wouldn't either.

We all have to make judgement calls every day and a lot of that judgement is learned from past experience.

How would you like to be 37 and have a 73 year old drunk puke his guts all over you at 30,000 feet? Luv the snide comment about "SS income more than likely, he was flying SW".. I guess RAndy Travis and Enema (not a big rap fan here) are living hand to mouth too?

They say that the kids were in route to Boise.
