As best I can guess the extra two weeks of rebuttal (which had always been only 5 days) is to allow for certain lawyers to have their lawsuits locked and loaded for day one of the big reveal. At least one party must be very, very unhappy.
Either that or one of the Arbs had a major family vacation already scheduled in the last half of July.
Kirby said "August" for the pubic unveiling when he made a supposedly premature announcement of the draft in his crew news. Whatever the reason for the new 18 day rebuttal period, he already knew about it.
Or, as is usually the case, I am just making all this up.

First of your misconceptions is that my wife is a F/A. She is not nor ever has been.
Second, I have no communications with any West pilots whatsoever, outside this forum.
You are correct about one thing. After a glorious 36 year career, I am having trouble adjusting to not flying airplanes and enjoying my trips. Unlike some of you spoiled asshats, I really loved my job and looked forward to going to work.
Tonight, like EastUS usually does, I've had a few Kona Castaway IPA's that have inspired me to tell a loser PBA DC-3 DH like you to go fxxk yourself. And thank the next AA pilot you see for saving your career and getting you paid like USAirways and Trump would never have done.
Be sure to revel in your victory. Either way the SLI goes you're still a "winner". Maybe you and your band of forum buddies can join up at McKoy's in Hooterville and savor the moment.
