You never did get it.

Get what?

I know what I did get!!

I did get paid $250,000 more than my east counterpart with an extra 170 days of vacation and far superior work rules for the duration of the scab union's tenure.  Meanwhile, it failed in its attempt to place junior pilots senior to me!

so, again, what did I not get?

You can't fix stupid...........

"We now have a better picture what the East MEC had on the table: an 8 year fence, furloughs by longevity (LOS), MDA time not counting for longevity, Dave ODell having 400 pilots below him, and the Nic surviving as THE LIST. Yes, the East offered the NIC. They just wanted to protect their retirement attrition, which stalled by the change in Age-60. Looking back, that offer must look like a home run to any West pilot right now, but last February the EAST MEC and ALPA couldnt get to first base with it.

Our former MEC and our union leadership played a very high stakes game of poker by not dealing at Wye River. Freund was right, we were risking everything..and right now, it looks like we lost. They need to take responsibility for that."

"We did it to ourselves, guys."..............how those ties working for ya?

Most certainly true where all their utterly hilarious "T Minus" countdown clocks were concerned. ;)

For ten years, this has been the never-ending mantra here:    You lost more than we did, so WE won!  Reply to that:  No, you lost more than we did, so WE won!

Bottom line, NOBODY really won.  What a bunch of intransigent idiots on both sides of the argument; everybody and their families suffered for it.

HUH?........seriously, have you been paying attention to anything the growth alone is enough (not frozen in the fishbowl) not to mention all the upgrades you have given up......remember one year captains, new hires n wide-bodies, you idiots paying all that money to Marty for nothing, 675 ties, too much to go on. Yes SOMEBODY won and it wasn't the west.

Was a thoughtless post.........Wye River cost you the NIC.

"We did it to ourselves, guys"............Ferguson and Koontz screwed your entire pilot group over.

What growth?

The recent bid that was posted actually has a reduction in head count. There is no growth, only attrition at this point in time.

I'll bet a you a dogfight that should the ISL include the Nic, or is favorable to the LAA pilots, you, and your merry band of forum mates will be the first ones to cry "It's not fair!"

October will bring the first AA/US bid. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out after 10 years of wasted treasure. Good luck to all!

Sure you would snowflake. From your previous postings, it seems that your best-ever-"pilot"-wet-dream-realized was just being taken inside the Miramar O' Club by a supervising adult. No worries though, as I'm sure you would make a fine "spartan knight" or maybe even "dire wolf"....Thanks again for the always-predictable laughs.  ;)

Im not so sure both sides declare they won. They both got screwed by a feckless dues collector.

ALPA is the real culprit. The "premier" pilot union collected dues for decades yet outsourced the most important of all things, the seniority list. It's unconscionable to me that a union would contractually bind itself to an OUTSOURCED solution to seniority integration of dues paying members.. unconscionable. ALPA stood by when their for hire driver stomped on the gas and flew off the cliff.

It was an impossible situation, but let's face it, ALPA will always win. APA will always win. They shadow box. We pay for the show. Some seasons the price of admission is higher than others.

Fly. Go home. Get paid. Buy what you want--even gaudy ties. But above all, ignore the drama.

Pretty much the case, and the true tragedy is that all of it could've easily been avoided had even a modicum of sensible and sane minds been found on both sides....but seriously: "This is Sparta!"..."Final and Binding!...It's OVER! Get used to it!"..."Booyooshaka!..."You won't even get 200 cards."..."Send the cards. I DARE you!"..."Ho ho ho! St nic is coming to town"/etc, ad nauseam? Well, "200" cards were raised and perhaps all those mindlessly arrogant "DARE"s weren't really all that especially bright to offer up to at least even supposedly "fellow" pilots.

westcoastflyer: "Bottom line, NOBODY really won." Agreed. What a sorry mess this all has been. I can only whimsically wish for all concerned that this whole thing would've been prevented early on through even the slightest bit of reasoned mutual respect for "fellow" members of the same employment class and craft. Instead; we saw the almost instant emergence of a purely Fantasyland "Army" of incredibly infantile, self-styled "soldiers". Oh well...life goes on.

That's as apt a summary of the whole sad mess as I've seen.

P.S. As but an ancient dinosaur already up to his hips in the tar pit, and soon to exit the airline world: I sincerely wish all the best for the future.

Addendum per "10 years of wasted treasure"? Well snowflake; not everyone shares the same settings on the "It's ALL about MEEE!" index, and I'm far happier sleeping well with the knowledge that I've never sold out my fellows for my personal gain. No monetary concerns can ever match that satisfaction. Your actual mileage clearly varies...so run along now, pout and fret that your sorry self apparently didn't receive everything in life you perversely imagined yourself "entitled" to, puff your sorry self up a bit, and just for added laughs tell us all more about how you would ever, however laughably, actually "bet you a dogfight"...? ;)
