Not re-writing history at all.

Seriously; can anyone at all suggest that what's now "ancient history" at all matters to the current sli proceedings? If so: WHY? Speaking of WHY?

"Since Doug Parker is far and away the longest currently serving airline CEO, beginning with AWA in the role in 2001" I see, so we should all somehow "salute" greed-soaked/personal-opportunism only made possible through a murderous attack on America that killed over 3,000?

Again, that is why we are the worst airline...........see a good CEO like Anderson over at Delta gets the support of the employees, because of AWA we will NEVER be the kind be of airline Delta is.

You realize AWA was the least desirable place for anybody to work, you only went there when a major would not take you.

You guys are a very lucky group.

It has no bearing whatsoever. Never did actually. It wasn't even a major factor in The Nicolau award. Other than the 517 WB slots, all he really did was to brige two unbalanced decks of cards in a 2:1 ratio. I could have done the same with a deck of Pinochle cards.

You seem a basically decent and essentially reasonable fellow Callaway, so I'll offer the thought that even the two of us could've functionally done far better with so much as a set of Tarot cards, perhaps some dice, a couple of coffees, and an hour or so to laugh at it all. ;)

No even halfway intelligent person could look at the past 10 years and even imagine otherwise. The "esteemed" arbitrator and dear "Doug" did nothing but foment and fully profit from the fruits of induced chaos and internecine strife in the pilot-employee group. How anyone could truly admire either of their efforts there must remain a mystery.

Right. Everyone at Delta is giddy with the perfect management team they have and would most certainly turn down any raise or other higher compensation Management might offer. It's like living on the Starship Enterprise over there.

In general people always want more money; employees always complain about the Management team they work for, and dream of the greener grass of the lost opportunity to having made a different choice of who or where to work. Not all are this way of course; some of us have learned to be content in all circumstances, though I certainly have opinions, hopes and dreams I pursue as well. Perhaps the best we can do for now is to rejoice with those who rejoice over at Delta for their choice to work for a great airline.

Compared to AWA management; Delta most certainly is "like living on the starship Enterprise" and their pilots have far more and actually valid reasons for being "giddy". What's your even possible "point" here? If it's your intended purpose to be some pathetic apologist for AWA management, then I urge you to first converse with some Delta folks before making of yourself a complete fool here.

"Management might offer" sums up the whole AWA thing/"philosophy" in a nutshell...

You realize there's a health dose of sarcasm here right? Borne out of keen observation of the insatiable human condition of course. :)

Goes without saying on both sides, I'd hope. ;)

Thanks for the conversation tonight. I wish both our "sides" could've managed at least even that much many years ago...No matter really, I suppose., since no one's currently shooting anything at any of us. None of this is Life/Death serious, and all this sorry BS will eventually pass.

P.S. Per commercial airlines? I'm a dinosaur already up to the hips in the tar pit, and really have no personal dog in this fight. I can only hope that all can be at least somewhat satisfied with whatever comes from arbitration this time, and hopefully have respectable careers in the aftermath. I wish none of you, not even "spartans" the slightest ill. I hope you'll see the skies for many years to come and have the good sense to never forget the miracle of even "just" being there in the first place, or ever at all. :)

Suggestably simple "Rules of Engagement" considerations for Life:

1) Are my loved ones in danger, or otherwise not provided for?
2) Is anyone immediately trying to kill me, or do I have a duty to kill anyone?
3) Is America under attack?
4) Do what Duty and necessity mandates...Always.
5) None of the above conditions immediately apply?...Awesome! Let's Party!

When's the last time you were tested for drugs?

P.S. Not trying to be at all judgmental about your clearly eager desire to be a wanna-be boy toy for the purple tu tu or anything...but/etc.

.

I think you're getting it now....... It's night and day difference between the two management teams AWA is so out gunned it's pitiful.......I had high hopes that maybe Paker would change his ways........yes they far far better than we will ever be.

Remember Andersons slap in the face to Parker........something like American is trying to mimic everything we do but they will NEVER be successful because they don't invest in their employees.........nor are they treated with respect.

PS some of my Delta buddies got profit sharing checks for close to 85,000 grand.....not to shabby..........Delta was very smart to fend off Parker.

$85 grand does sound nice, I think I could find a use for that, well the $45 grand or so after taxes anyway.

Why don't you head over to Delta to get in on the good life? Surely they will pay wages and bonuses equivalent to what you think your skills and experience are worth, right? Walk right in and get top of scale wages with bonuses to boot. Surely the free market forces of supply and demand will treat you well over there. Non-Union people switch employers for higher pay all the time so there's nothing preventing you from doing the same, right?
