Wow. One sentence of unequivocal truth from Metroyet and the Usual Scab Suspects have a hissy fit. Truth hurts, idiots. You may want to stop congratulating yourselves being that your quest to keep the West out of SLI failed miserably. The West is loaded for Bear and the East is loaded with the same whiny drivel about being owed something. Here's what you're owed...FK You. HA!!!

You guys are going to be slaughtered in this SLI.
They are in the grasping stage! Marty has placed the blinders on well while he collect his $$$. Go Marty!

Marty has made a hobby out of the west group. And quite a living as well.

East pilots get the PBGC guarantee.

West pilots....not so much.

Why?  The east pilots actually had a Defined Benefit plan to lose.  The westicles, with their perennial gutter contracts and permanent "also ran" airline, never had the balls to actually negotiate a Defined Benefit plan.

So, the East gets the insurance guarantee, the west gets the gutter....again....or, still.
East pilots get the PBGC guarantee? If they are guaranteed their guarantee then why is it still in court?

Fellow Philadelphia Pilots,

Now that the JCBA vote is behind us, we need to turn our attention to the USAPA election and who will lead the Philadelphia pilots. Contrary to what you may believe, there is a great deal of business that must be completed before the sunset of the organization.

The most important issue that the new officers and BPR members will deal with is the Seniority List Integration. Even as litigation continues, the Merger Committee continues to prepare for arbitration. Their job is complex and time-consuming and I want to support them in any way possible to ensure the best outcome for all of our pilots, senior or junior.

We also need to remember why the organization was founded in the first place in order to understand the significant work that must be completed. As we have discovered, our previous collective bargaining agent (which was a member of the pension committee) was complicit in the decline and termination of the pension. In 2004, I wrote and both the local council and MEC passed a resolution to investigate the pension collapse, but those efforts were stymied by ALPA National. The termination of the pension is a travesty that impacts our pilots, and we should note that this coming April 1, 2015 is the starting date for PC4 retirements at age 65. Our lawsuit is now at the appeals court level to have the PBGC replaced as the trustee of the pension. Oral arguments are scheduled for after the new members of the BPR are seated.

The effort to overturn the egregious ruling on the three percent grievance continues, and that case is scheduled to be heard before an appeals court panel in the near future..

If the guarantee is guaranteed then why does Ted Reed have an article titled..

US Airways Pilots Still Fight for Pension Payouts, 11 Years After Bankruptcy Case
By Ted Reed - 05/12/14 - 6:45 AM EDT
Tickers in this article: AAL UAL
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheStreet) -- In March 2003, as it was emerging from the first post-Sept. 11 airline bankruptcy, US Airways terminated its pilot pension plan, depriving thousands of pilots of comfortable retirements they had come to expect.
Eleven years later, the court battles are still being fought after two groups of pilots sued the government-backed Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., which took over the plan.

Some guarantee, I'd ask for a refund. Good luck

Take your own advice sucker, ask Marty for a refund, he's bled you westies dry.
You sure spend a lot of time worrying about how we spend our money. Maybe that's because you are on the receiving end of the lawsuits as the result of donations and $675 ties?

It seems like you have a problem with the Philly update and Ted Reed.

How about the APA?

4 WHEREAS, benefits were determined based on retirement at age 65; and,

6 WHEREAS, approximately 3000 current AAG pilots are affected by this pension issue;
7 therefore,
8 BE IT RESOLVED, that the BOD directs the President to task the APA Government Affairs
9 Committee to assume responsibility for support of lobbying efforts to resolve this pension issue by
10 establishing the PBGC ad hoc Sub-committee; and,
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the budget for the PBGC ad hoc Sub-committee shall be
12 $15,000 per month through January 19, 2017.

East Cheats,
Most east pilots that retire at age 65 will receive about 44K per year. That's in stone. The attempt is to be able to receive that at age 60. Hope this helps. Go to google and search for PBGC. (Put that $675 into your 401K!)

Exactly. The APA simply wants to waste money lobbying for a change that would benefit all pilots who were forced to retire at age 60 whose pensions were terminated and taken over by the PBGC.

In my view, the PBGC guarantee should have never punished airline pilots who were forced by federal law to retire at age 60 (the punishment being a huge reduction in their pension guarantee) but attempts to convince Congress to modify the rules now is tilting at windmills. Congress and the President don't see eye-to-eye on anything these days, and this one probably has zero chance of changing that paradigm.

Obviously. East cheats. 44k a yr now. 20 yrs of it equals $880,000.00
