 Fellow LAX/SFO pilots -

Whether the Greeks or Conquistadors made the exhortation ....

Just their awesome knowledge of history alone allows one full faith in their perception and judgement of intelligent "strategy"..."Whether the Greeks or Conquistadors"...Really? Oh well, I'd suppose it reasonably assumed that hopeless (and apparently one-size-fits-all) village idiots couldn't really be expected to even know the difference.

They stole our retirement. The refused to pay the 3% agreed to. I do not trust them......period. I must vote no.
We had our retirement taken during our first bankruptcy. Years before the merger that brought us Mr Parker.

Never let the truth get in the way.....

The medical portion is a potential increase of 200$ or so a month.

On what basis can you possibly now be even the least bit sure of that? "2) The Company will “meet and confer” in good faith in order to reach agreement with the Union concerning the minimum modification or modifications necessary to avoid application of excise tax or other penalty."...Seriously? Especially the part about "good faith"? One just has to laugh at the very notion of that ever even being possible with those people. ;)

Just one reason, you comfortable with the LTD, Guess you did not go a few pages back and see what Delta is getting now.

See below we will need about 40% to come close to Delta's new contract later this year.

Ah yes, but that's only for Delta's people. Apparently, for all those so eagerly now looking to vote in yet more concessions at not the smaller Delta, but indeed the world's largest airline..Well, what more can be said than the below?

There is a reason you have not heard from Neil Roghair lately, he probably does not feel the love from management regarding his future.
As far as union leadership, he is a putz.

But Wilson.. He is brilliant.. He figured out how to throw everything away for a stupid perception of one month worth of retro....

Delta gets a contract six months before amendable date but Wilson gets a contract two years after he should have and claims "retro", but effectively 1 year and 11 months late.. with more concessions than a god can count.

A rich Benedict...

Beyond that, what are the “vote NO” protections against the next airline industry crisis, when profit-sharing drops back to zero as airlines respond to renewed threats or economic downturns?

The sky is always falling. Got it. ;) It's a sad given that the PHX cult of invertebrate "spartans" will naturally vote in favor of well, pretty much anything, (98% for the MOU) and are a complete waste of time to even consider, but something I've previously asked over the years, I'm still mildly curious about: Do "you'se" get your management-signed-kneepads and chapstick issued, or do you have to pay out of your own pockets for them? If the latter's the case; it's at least easier to understand PHX being overly dazzled just by hourly rates "you'se" never before even dreamed of...while remaining predictably barren of the brains needed to understand the overall picture at any level.

"protections against the next airline industry crisis"...? This is a time of never-before-seen/all-time-highest and record industry profits, just fyi. It would be admittedly pure cruelty and nearly even "child abuse" on my part, but I'd love to sit at a poker table staffed entirely with such consumate fools. ;) The purple tutu gang and Glass must honestly just laugh themselves to sleep every night...

Yeah...thus far at least; the APA leaves me wholly underwhelmed and unimpressed. Any plan for the future? = They have none...."But wait! Just call in the next five minutes, or whatever completely contrived deadline we've buckled under to, and, well...umm, nevermind work rules/quality of life issues/profit sharing and any/all of that silly stuff...how 'bout those hourly rates?" ;)

Agree with the assessment. I thought we'd have better adult supervision, but, alas, it is the same or worse.
Tragically, our union has always engaged in short term tactical thinking at the detriment of the long term view. There is no strategy or analysis of what's beyond the immediate horizon, and it bites us on our collective fleshy posterior every time. Now, with 28+ years here and 10 to go, I doubt that anything will change.
Here's to 'riding it out to the finish line'.
Cheers.

"Most People Mess Up, By Looking For Something Better, Just To End Up With Something Worse"? That's your world/life view?...Seriously? Well now, I'm suddenly, truly inspired to the very deepest depths of my soul! What a fine "philosophical" prescription for a completely pathetic, and at the very best, a hopelessly mediocre excuse for a "life". Sigh, small wonder that the best "you'se" could ever personally accomplish was a (hot damn!) "Varsity letterman jacket" and of course, umm, AWA...

Just a gentle suggestion. Try this philosophy out for your "next life" instead: "Audaces fortuna iuvat."

Yeah, but best wishes for the 10 yet to go being at least halfways decent for you, younger brother, regardless of this "pilot group's" virtual insanity.
